Script AI - Feedback thread

    I was thinking something like percentage of allowed time delay, so AI would not need to be on spot at exact time, but instead +/- some adjustable percentage? That might of course create issue of AI not keeping up the pace, but maybe by adjusting aggression if enough many consecutive points are behind the schedule could work there, not really sure.

    Kinda instead of adjusting each point, AI would take average of few with settable percentage of delay / advance, that could help with the overshooting issues too I think, but of course there could be drawbacks I can not think.

    I was thinking this was going to simply be a different version of, "replay" but it's actually a path recording tool that the AI will react to differently on each run. "Go. . . here'ish" is a more realistic thing? I haven't opened it up yet but is there a, "risk" factor on this one or will there be?

    Currently I feel the existing pathing way is a better choice imho - put routes down where you like, and let the AI drive them. The only benefit to this would be speed regulation perhaps? Sometimes my AI decides it's a great idea to brake hard in the middle of a quick turn, then wipe out completely.

    With this you record kinda time spots where AI need to be at given time from the start, AI then attempts to get there without being late or early.

    So you can record different paths with different cars and have AI then drive with any vehicle you choose on that chosen path.

    For example I did drive Miramar pretty hard around Italy's loop road, recorded that drive, then loaded ETK K-series track variant and let AI to drive recorded path while I was following with track miramar, it did work out perfectly, no sudden braking at wrong spot etc.

    You can drive any way you want too, so it is really useful for video making for example.

    Oh fascinating! So instead of having an ETK go as fast as it wants, you just tell it "this is 4mph around heeeerre and 25 around here" and every vehicle will do it's best to do that. Such a nice feature for sure then!

    hello all ! soo im here because i didnt wan to open a thread for my issue.

    does the script AI work on italy only, because it doesnt seem to work on any other (vanilla) map for me :/


    ok so when i first test it i was on italy, but it was way to laggy to have multyple vehicle+script AI, soo i loaded up wcusa and when i opened up the script Ai the record buttom ect wasnt showing up, then i loaded up utah and same thing... for me the script AI is only working on italy.:/

    I have no idea what's going. It should be working perfectly fine on, other maps, as I used this on ECUSA and Small Island aswell. Might just be some errors on your part honestly.

    It should work as I have tested it on Gridmap too and I think it is shown in official video on gridmap also.

    Could you tell step by step what did you do, which cars and which map did you use when it did not work, I could try to see if I can replicate what you are experiencing, maybe we can figure something out?

    first time i tested it is like 5 hour ago on italy with my default vehicle the one on my profile pic, i simply click on f10 and it opened up the tool thing,click on scrip AI and then did a test it was realy fun!

    but as i sayd above, changed map cuzz it was laggy,second map i loaded in was wcusa with the same vehicle at this moment the scrip AI tool was still showing up but the buttom for recording/play/save ect wasmnt showing up anymore and there is big orange circle on the road.. hopefully you can understand what im telling you as im french ^^

    edited: now its not working at all anymore not even on italy-.-

    and no i didnt change anything between that, same number of mod ect.

    Ok, what is happening is that AI script tool window is probably changed in size and buttons are now hiding. There is those vertical lines ( I ) in tool, if you grab those and drag to left it will scale the columns and you should be able to see the buttons.

    Also you can resize the tool from lower right corner, just move mouse to corner, hold left button down and move mouse, there is no arrow cursor appearing if I remember right, but scaling still works.

    Orange circles are normal, they will disappear when you close tool by pressing F10 again, you can close the tool with F10 even when recording so those orange circles don't show up.

    First off, the only bug I'm having with this feature is the one I talked about where the AI will seemingly "forget" how to drive and just sit there and rev their engines lol. This can fixed temporarily by hitting CTRL-R ( Major thanks to krallopian for that suggestion). Anyways, this update has added hours upon hours of more gameplay even though I don't need much of an incentive to play this game as it is. Not only has it breathed life into the game itself, but multiple maps where there's no AI! For instance being able to set a race on Halo Mombasa is awesome and then making "traffic" on the gas station level so I can ram them into the pump lol. I have to say this is by far my favorite update and I love the direction this game is going.

    I think the only thing i would as is what people were saying above me, maybe some kind of offset or timer to make the cars move when you want them to and maybe implementing something to allow you to make the AI loop without respawning. I can't to see what the community comes up with as far as scenarios go using this feature!

    Is there any way to stop the recording from starting like, a foot higher? It gets super annoying when trying to set up the recording and the AI is just a few seconds behind where you want it to be, so it desyncs.

    Also, one idea I just got: As soon as an impact is detected, the AI would stop following the path. That would be a really cool way to set up even more specific crash scenes.

    I got the Script AI working in my custom scenario. Very cool! I can even make the AI abandon the route and flee after a specific time. Hmm, what fun scenarios should I make? There's so many new possibilities.

    Nice Update, just need two controls button for play and replay.

    or Shift+R replaced all and REBOOT all

    Hi,I’ve got a problem when I hit F10>Tools>Ai Script manager it opens in a very small window I can’t press a thing on it,any help I really want to try out this feature

    Do you have latest version of the game? I think that was fixed in last or previous update.

    Anyway grab from bottom right corner with mouse and drag it bigger.
