BeamNG is a lot newer than both of these. iRacing came out in 2008 and rFactor in 2005, but rFactor is basically the same game as F1 Challenge 99-02, which came out in 2003. BeamNG came out in 2013. I would compare it with Assetto Corsa rather than with iRacing or rF, AC came out in 2014 and it´s graphics are much more similar to BeamNG quality-wise than iRacing´s and rF´s, which look way more outdated.
Did not know that. I did mean rFactor 2 though, I just forgot there was an rFactor 1. rFactor 2's release date on Wikipedia is 2012 and the first public videos of BeamNG were in the same year, so that's what I was going off of. I lumped iRacing in there too since 8 and 12 years old are both elderly in the video game market.
You have to keep in mind that the first four videos are from CryEngine. The game which they were recorded in has not much in common with the current BeamNG.
I'm well aware of the engine swap. The first Torque3D video was Jan 2013. My point is just that it is an old game and it's not going to look like one 10 years newer.
I have no problem with that, and I think you are misinterpreting my post as well. I'm not impatient and I never said I don't trust the developers. What I'm tired of are these forum dwellers who sit here all day shooting down every suggestion that's not a priority for them. --- Post updated --- I would suggest that the devs update the FAQ and mention things like paint scratches and the status on that. If players had a sense of the roadmap, it would reduce repetitive suggestions. Or give us a poll to vote on what features we would like to see the most/first. I've seen other developers do that. They would still have their own roadmap, but it would help them prioritize the features.
