Apparently it doesn't fit on H Series flatbed (I thought it would) You did a good job anyway, well done!
Who will survive (still be driveable) Youre Van or the other Caravan from Bernd ? (The other Van is a little far away in the Picture)
I predict either both live or both die. Not one or the other. Hey VWlove38 and Ai'toror[PL], both of you seem to have exact opposite thoughts about the RV config (powertrain and suspension). Would you guys mind sharing why you believe your config idea is fitting for the RV Thanks.
No problem, here are my thoughts about the suspension and the powertrain: 1. Suspension: - With just lifted struts on the front it bodyrolls worse than a burnside special with covet on the roof. It deals with the bumps and stuff sorta okay but with some of the harder bumps it likes to bottom out a lot. I know that this isn't a cargo van and that's why in my config I went for a medium duty stuff. - It keeps the ride smooth and reduces the boat- like feeling. - It levels out the van (with lifted struts front sits lower) - As you can see in the video linked below, ride smoothness is about the same in both of the campers and the one without a supercharger (with medium duty beam axle suspension) bodyrolls less. 2. Powertrain: -As you can see in the first video, with the supercharger and the high stall torque converter a 4 ton camper van has a better 0-62mph/0-100kmph time than an average, older hatchback, that is a 1.5 DX covet and my dad's Renault Megane 1.4 e. - Without the supercharger and with heavy duty converter the van does a 0-62mph in a reasonable 15 sec. - Heavy duty torque converter just seems a right choice if you want to move 4 tons of a van I think the high stall one is more of a high performance thing that helps with the launch. -Top speed of 115MPH is Too high for that kind of vehicle Both videos present how does a standard config work (the one with beige roof and with a supercharger) and how does my config work (the one with white roof and without the supercharger) --- Post updated --- + with the standard config you can do a bounce wheele
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY ITS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I see what you mean. Thanks for the comparison and input! --- Post updated --- Correct, but that might change in the future. I ran out of color wheels.
The suspension could definitely use some work like Ai'toror[PL] said. Maybe in the future you could create bagged suspension in the future.
Also, could you add a simple reverse light? (take one of the rectangular roof lights from the D-Series and basically mount it under or on the rear bumper. Those lights that you have right now work, but it is kind of weird seeing a white light come from the red lamp
I'm using a air lift suspension on a config I made, works pretty well, plus you can then level out the van on uneven terrain, maybe add suspension like that in the future?
I might just slap a Jayco/Jayco sticker on the existing repaint because @EcoNadder77 is so close already so it makes my job easier
Yea, it does look weird. Getting the reverse light to be textured white is something I've been battling ever since the taillights were added. I'll give the D-Series idea a try. Maybe. We'll see.
Finally released, and so on for a long time, so happy. Can you make a RV again based on the D series?
Sorta like this? https://www.beamng.com/threads/deve...r-contributing-post.1575/page-646#post-638036 To everyone who's experiencing difficulties opening the door, this is how it's done:
