if there can be a monster tank version of this that is faster, i'll be VERY happy as would a lot of other people....if only i could model in blender
For those complaining it's 'slow' or 'doesn't steer' ITS A PIECE OF CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT used for leveling dirt and moving dirt (or rocks, stones, debris etc)... *sigh* No, really, it just needs to shove and bash things And that it does. It's not here to win races, just get in the way of them Normally these things steer by having one track going faster than the other side.
I know. The steering does not bother me, its the slowness XD. It should at least be able to reach 25 or 15MPH
Really great mod, thanks for sharing! Oh, and it's perfect for when you have to deal with Christine again
can you make a verson with normal arrow steering? i know that it is not realistic but i have a steering wheel and its hard to use the space bar
v0.8 changelog: Improved steering - now you can steer with arrow keys Some jbeam tweaks Fixed tracks instability on dirt
I hadn't seen this until now, and while I have to say that it's by far the most "user-friendly" crawler type machine I've ever seen on Beam, I do have a couple of things I'd like to point out. First, It seems very light, You can have the whole weight of the dozer on a car and barely crush the roof in.That shouldn't be the case. We've got a handful of dozers at work, two of which are John Deere 850K WLT's, which I would consider to be comparable to your dozer, and they have an operating weight of 45,000 lbs, when it's moving you can feel the ground shaking if you're anywhere near them. While we've never crushed a car with any of our equipment, I've seen much smaller dozers totally flatten a car with one pass. One of this size will flatten basically anything that gets under it. Second, there is way too much trans slip, (Or a potential lack of power or gearing), Our 850K's won't stop turning the tracks unless you let off. I've gotten your's to stop from being on top of a car in the mud, or trying to fold a car up against a wall. These aren't complaints, just some observations from someone who has dealt with similar equipment. This is an 850K WLT
I forgot we that the most recent update included a truck scale, which assuming it's accurate, adds credence to my previous post, By showing that your dozer is 15,000 lbs lighter than it aught to be.'' 28,929 lbs.
