The way rod bearing failure is currently simulated in the game is less than ideal. Sometimes when driving a car really hard especially rwd cars in dirt where the rpms are high but the speed is low you can overheat the oil temp before the coolant. This causes the rod bearings to fail but nothing else. Problem is with the way beaming's engine damage is set up if the rod bearings fail and nothing else the car will still run forever with bad rod bearings. Obviously, this is not realistic. One solution i can think of is that when the oil damage gets really high and rod bearings fail the motor should also loose oil pressure and starve itself of oil which will eventually kill the motor but idk. Ive had this happen with vanilla and modded cars quite a few times over the years .
I do understand this issue. I have had this experience with a Gavril D15 offroad 4.5L supercharged (similar I believe). I overreved it and there was a loud bang, and the engine exploded itself.
