I don't have Automation, but that is a good idea. The reason I am basing it off the old Roamer is because I don't know how to model blender very well yet. If you look at the description close to the bottom of the first page, you will see that I eventually will make a new model that is original and actually looks like something once I have more experience in Blender. --- Post updated --- Also, no one is willing enough to help me so far.
Well at least you're taking baby steps instead of jumping the gun and making a whole new thing before you even know how. That's good. There's a few modders here that have their own modelling tutorials on Youtube. They're quite helpful; I picked up some good stuff from those videos, even though I have yet to sit down and actually make anything. Even if you can't find anyone to help you, videos should do just fine for a while.
You are the first person to have faith in me after the beta was released. Thanks. --- Post updated --- Also, making the model was the first time I have ever used blender.

fair enough, but don't release a mod when it's nowhere near ready for release, because it's puts people off when they look at it in-game when its HEAVY WIP[/QUOTE] This mod is a pre-release. It is just so people can check it out for themselves while I fix a ton of bugs and add more content. The history of this mod was originally a joke- I just wanted engines that were unrealistically powerful. It evolved, adding more and more parts. Eventually, I wanted to release it. But, there was no "selling point". People wont want just engines that are completely unrealistic- I needed something better. I decided to make a new body: The Modern Body- A new, aggressive look with angular styling. I wanted to base it off of my parent's car, a deep blue 2020 Ford Explorer. The main reason I chose this is because I wanted a powerglow skin. I downloaded the wrong version of Blender, realized it wont start up, then downloaded a new version. My computer has a seizure when I load it from the app menu because of "duplicate apps", so I have to load it from file. After watching 0 videos and using my modeling knowledge from Blockbench, the model was done in 30 min using the Sculpt Tool. It had no textures, so I ported every file from the base Roamer that I thought involved textures. It was white- which is where I am now. --- Post updated --- I also posted a thread dedicated to solving the texturing issues. It is here: https://www.beamng.com/threads/roamer-sport-texturing.75065/
IT IS WIP. The body is not the only part, just scroll through the engines and you will find some cool stuff that doesn't look like someone crushed the front end of a roamer and bleached it.
the newest version of blender is free on steam, i think that should help you out. Plus there are a dozen tutorials on how to model a car on YT, good luck .
I will not release another version of the mod until the model works so I don't have to deal with everyone griping about how much it sucks.
Modifying a Roamer is 1000 times easier than modifying an Automation car. I would stick with the Roamer.
What I would do is make and Automation car, and slap the body on top of it because it already has functioning models and textures. I would copy over slots that still apply (like the interior) and paste it in the jbeam. I would most likely have to change the glass so it is transparent, but I will do that when I have a program that can read and edit .dds files. If things don't line up, I would just create a custom frame that changes the locations of parts.
ever since the new update, you can make glass transparent because there is now 3D fixture placement, so you can move bits around wherever you want without it having to fit with the shape of the body
