    Hello everyone,

I am a huge fan of BeamNG, and really like the 0.40 update. However, since the 0.39 update, I have seen a notable decrease in FPS. I know I may sound like many other people here who have experienced worse performance, but bare with me.

Back in version 0.38, I was extremely impressed with the performance of the game on my computer. My specs are as follows:
    • CPU: Intel Core i7 8850H
    • GPU: Nvidia Quadro P2000
    • RAM: 32GB DDR4
    • Storage: 512GB NVMe SSD
With these specifications, I was able to achieve around 45-50 FPS on Normal graphics settings at 1080p on demanding maps like Italy and WCUSA, using the DirectX11 renderer. However, with the introduction of 0.39, despite lowering my graphics to Low, resolution down to 900p and trying all 3 graphics renderers, I was barely able to break past 30 FPS.

Since 0.40 has released, I have seen a few more FPS, especially using one of the new upscalers such as FSR, and I can bring the game back to 1080p. However, at 1080p, I get around 35 FPS, going down to the high 20s in car interiors, so I have to bring the game back down to 900p again to achieve 35-40 FPS, still less than the 0.38 days.

I am thinking, if it is possible, for a switch/toggle in a future update that allows to player to change the game's graphics engine to the pre-0.39 era, with the old skybox, reflections, the PBR textures introduced in 0.23, etc, being present, while having the game's current features and mechanics. I think this feature could be particularly helpful for those who are happy with the game's current features, such as the new Cherrier Percheron, split-screen support and the upgraded vehicle aerodynamics from 0.39, but are totally fine with the graphics from, say, 0.23 to 0.38, for example, for potentially more FPS.

Keep up the amazing work, devs! I am super excited for what's to come in the future for BeamNG, and grateful for what we currently have. I hope this feature will be implemented in an upcoming update.

    Thank you for reading!
