This is my thoughts on the current 1.3 Beta Release of Suokkola's Renault 5 Turbo addon for BeamNG.Drive. I really want to write a full review on this vehicle, but due to possibly annoying people with having to scroll an extra 10 miles plus the fact that the vehicle is not yet finished, it will be split into 4 brief sections: Handling, Graphics, Options, and Ease of Use. Handling: Responsive and stiff, a little bit bouncy. Very solid power, however it is good at burnouts unless you start it in 2nd gear instead. The rear end fishtails quite a bit under acceleration, which is quite accurate to the original Renault 5 Turbo taking the sidewall size, rim size and horsepower into consideration. Once in a blue moon, the suspension breaks slightly easier than normal, but the renault has a very solid damage model otherwise. Graphics: Very impressive so far. Even with how blurry the interior is, it still looks very attractive in my eyes. I even love the "Turbo" decal in the back window...even though it is a forza imported model, the graphical quality of the textures in general still surprises me a lot considering this is a early beta of the vehicle. I don't even care if the wheel textures are still slightly misplaced or not at this point, because the rest of the vehicle still has a stunning skin-job on it. It's a waste of time to search for any texture overlapping issues that may be present currently. However, the headlights still have yet to be added to the vehicle, so I strongly advise against nighttime driving until then. Options: If you are looking to choose a different version of the Renault 5 Turbo, you will have to wait a little bit longer. There is absolutely nothing but stock parts in the parts menu and only one default edition of the Renault 5 Turbo as a result. However, don't let this take away from your experience with this vehicle, as it is obviously still a beta and a good vehicle's performance is usually tweaked to perfection before any parts or edition options are created for it. (Speaking of this, I would like to see a AWD drivetrain available for this once the addon parts are added into the folder.) Ease of Use: I have heard of the vehicle having issues with being partially or completely invisible as a result of an invalid cache file, but since this is the first time I have ever had this vehicle reside in my copy of the game I had no issues with this. So far in my 3 hour playtime with the vehicle, there has not been a single stability issue caused by it on the game's end or the vehicle's end. Final Thoughts: If you took a look at this vehicle from the worst perspective possible, it would still be WAY more than a great tideover for the final release. I can't see any good reason to not have this vehicle in your vehicles folder...out of a 5, I could still rate this vehicle a honest 4 if I were taking it into account as a fully finished product.
