Case: Side impact, December 1st 2019.

Description: an SUV travelling way over the speed limit sideswiped a van after running a red light.

Injuries: the van's three occupants were all fine- in fact, they ran away. The SUV driver broke his hand but was otherwise ok.

    Vehicles involved: 2017 ETK 1354td, 2008 Gavril H15.

    Location: Norte, Italy.

Aftermath: the ETK was sent for repair, but it was very expensive and when it turned out the driver had not only run a red light at 75km/h (the speed limit was 50) but was also using his phone, he had his licence revoked, so the car was sold for salvage. It was eventually repaired in late 2020 and is now back on the road. It also transpired that the van was stolen, so its owner was compensated for their loss and the thieves were tracked down and arrested.

    Case: Head-On Head collision, 9th June 2020 (my 20th birthday :))

Description: A old lady was driving home. A Hopper driver was driving extremely fast and crashed into the lady. He then jumped into a van and drove off.

Injuries: The lady was okay, the Hopper driver also seems okay.

Car(s): 1997 Ibishu Hopper, 2004 Escar Egos, 1998 Gavril H-Series (not involved; getaway vehicle of the Hopper).

    Location: Town, Scottish Highlands, UK.

Aftermath: Both cars are written-off. Police founded out that the license plate of the Hopper was from a 2003 Gavril Roamer. The license plate of the Hopper was founded in pieces in the trunk. The H-Series license plate was from a 1997 Ibishu Pessima and was changed into a Dutch license plate (from a trailer) and was repainted. The car was found burning in a village. Both suspects were arrested later that year and are put into jail for drug dealing, kidnapping and dangerous driving. The Egos driver still lives a normal life in the town but never touches the steering wheel ever again.

    Case: hit-and-run, February 28th 2014.

Description: an MPV driver leaving a fuel station decided it would be easier to reverse all the way out than have to manoeuvre around the car in front of hers. However, the pedal got stuck and she hit two parked cars- briefly getting out to inspect the damage, she could not see any damage and so drove off, very nearly getting hit by another car as she pulled out onto the road.

    Injuries: none.

Vehicles involved: 1999 Ibishu Kashira LX, 2008 Bitron B2, 1988 Autobello Luxor.

    Location: Italy.

Aftermath: the owner of the Luxor had been sitting in his car sending a text message at the time of the crash, so he got out and was able to capture photos and call the police- who found the Kashira about 15 minutes later having reversed into a tree. The driver claimed she had gone to turn around as she had missed her turning, and gotten stuck, but considering that she was using nowhere near full lock and the turning in question was a footpath, police saw fit to revoke her licence. She was retested, but failed miserably, being unable to read a licence plate and nearly running over the examiner before he had even gotten in the car with her. Suffice to say, she never drove herself again.

Her car was scrapped- although it was in perfect working order and the insurer would have let it be repaired, she just wanted the car gone and accepted 50 euros for someone to take it away. The Bitron had sustained damage to its rear axle in the shunt, meaning it did not drive straight anymore- the owner did not care, she said she would have used it regardless, but police deemed it unsafe and so it too was scrapped. The Luxor was also written off, but its owner bought it back from the insurer because he still had plans for it.

Case: side impact, July 6th 1991.

Description: a trucker from the Netherlands got lost while taking a shipment of wood to Norte, and stopped to check his map. Thinking he needed to turn around, he left the layby without seeing a car speeding towards him from the left- although he stopped, the car- which had been overtaking a slow-driving French holidaymaker, did not. Another car rounded the corner and had to swerve up the hillside to avoid hitting the truck- bouncing back across the road, it came within inches of smashing into the stone wall.

Injuries: the driver of the Pessima had a broken neck among other serious injuries, but everyone else was fine.

Vehicles involved: 1985 Gavril T65, 1990 Ibishu Pessima 1.8 HX, 1990 Charmand Rivel.

    Location: Italy.

Aftermath: the truck driver, after considerable delay, completed his delivery and got the truck fixed at a shop in Norte. The Pessima was wrecked, but its driver eventually recovered- due to his reduced mobility, however, his next car was a Kashira instead.

I don't know the Dutch system, and there was no generator for that plate mod so I had to think of something that resembled the ones I'd seen. Thanks for the info, though!

Case: Stolen car chase ends with collision, April 16th, 2017. "Grand Theft Carnage"

Description: After police officers responded to a call about a stolen car, the suspect, a 26 year old bartender and official member of the "Golden Gladiators" gang named Andrew "Spades" Thomas, began to flee from police. The pursuit lasted for about 15 minutes, going all over the city, before a BeamCom van accidentally ended the pursuit. The van, having a green light, began to make a right turn at a intersection, when Andrew's ETK began to head downhill. Andrew swerved hard, but still clipped the van, causing the ETK to automatically shut itself down and apply it's brakes. The van was spun up onto the curb, hitting the wall of a nearby building.

Injuries: Andrew attempted to run away from police after the crash, but was tased, falling to the ground and hitting his forehead on the curb, giving him a nasty gash and a concussion. The BeamCom van driver, named Ryan Jacobs, only received a few small cuts and bruises. Both were brought to the hospital and fully recovered.

Vehicles involved: 2016 ETK Kc6t, 2000 Gavril H25 Vanster Work Package.

    Location: West Coast, USA.

Aftermath: Andrew was charged with grand theft auto, felony evasion, reckless driving, and reckless endangerment, and is now serving a 25 year sentence in a nearby prison. Ryan was given a week of recovery time, and was given a brand new van upon his return. Despite minor frame damage, the ETK was eventually repaired and returned to it's owner, a 33 year old mechanic named David Morton. BeamCom was going to send the van to a salvage yard, but instead was purchased by a employee of theirs named Brian Lee, who fixed it up and converted it into a camper van, which he now lives in and travels the country with.

Speeding and Collision, Fatal accident between a Dansworth D2500 Type-D rear engine East Coach bus and a B-Series Off-Road Firetruck Semi that occurred March 6th, 2020, in West Coast, USA:

(View of the vehicles at the final resting positions)
    • Location: East Mojave Road exit 76, West Coast, USA
    • Date & Time: 03/06/2020, 454 PDT
    • Vehicle(s): Dansworth D2500 Type-D rear engine East Coach bus / B-Series Off-Road Firetruck Semi
    • Owner/Operator: East Coach Buses / Fire Rescue LLC
    • Vehicle Damage: Substantial / Substantial
    • Defining Event: Speeding and collision
    • Injuries: 3 (Fatal), 7 (Serious), 6 (Minor), 7 (None)
    • Trip Type: Charter / Personal

    - Analysis:
On March 6th, 2020, the coach bus was occupied by a 51-year-old male driver and 22 passengers, they were traveling eastbound near the East Mojave Road exit 76 when the bus rear ended a B-Series firetruck. Both vehicles veered to the right, with the bus coming to the rest on its left side and rotating to a heading of 294°. The firetruck went into an estimated 4 rollovers immediately after the impact. The truck came to the rest on its left side in a similar fashion to the bus at a heading of 280°.

The bus driver and two passengers were fatally injured. The truck driver and six bus passengers received serious injuries. The remaining 13 bus occupants survived with injuries ranging from minor to none.

Examination of the vehicles revealed that there were no anomalies consistent with a preimpact failure or malfunctions. Additionally, toxicology testing performed on the drivers at the Forensic Sciences Laboratory was negative for carbon monoxide, ethanol, and drugs.

A study by the investigators revealed that at the crash location, the roadway is curvy and level and the posted speed limit is 70 mph. The investigation revealed that the bus driver was driving at a speed of at least 110 mph at an approx heading of 56°. The truck was traveling at a speed of 65 mph at an approx heading of 65°.

According to the surviving passengers, the bus driver did know about the posted speed limited, one passenger reported that she had traveled with the bus driver in 4 other trips. She said that the driver exceeded the speed limits in all of the trips, she also added that he nearly rear ended another bus on the same accident road a few days ago.

Company records show that the 51-year-old driver, who was employed back in 1999, had a total of 8765 recorded hours on his back. The driver was issued a speeding ticket 3 times in the 4 years prior to the accident. A study of the driver's sleeping schedule showed that he had an 8 hour sleep on the day of the accident.

Based on the investigation, It is most likely that the bus driver was speeding on a curvy road, which prevented him from avoiding a truck that was traveling around the posted speed limit in the fast lane.

    - Probable Cause:
    • The bus driver's excessive speed on a curvy road, which resulted in a rear-end collision with a truck and a subsequent rollover. Contributing to the accident was the operator's lack of safety oversight.

    - General Information:
On March 6th, 2020, at around 454 pacific daylight time, a Dansworth D2500 Type-D rear engine bus, owned and operated by the East Coast Buses LLC, and a B-Series Off-Road Firetruck Semi, owned and operated by a private fire services company, were both substantially damage following a collision and a subsequent rollover on the East Mojave Road exit 76, West Coast, USA. The certified commercial bus driver and two bus passengers were fatally injured. The certified commercial truck driver and six bus passengers were seriously injured, and the remaining thirteen bus passengers received injuries ranging from minor to none. The bus was being operated on a cross-country charter passenger trip for local business workers, and the truck was being operated on a local ferry trip. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident, and there were no prior emergencies reported by any of the vehicles involved in the collision.

According to the truck driver, he was driving on the far left shoulder below the speed limit when he noticed an incoming bus, he attempted to turn the vehicle to the right but it was too late. The bus crashed into the left rear side of the truck, rolling it over at least 5 times. The driver reported that he was rescued by good bystanders after 30s from the initial collision.

There were multiple eyewitnesses to the accident, according to one taxi driver, he observed the bus "doing an insane amount of speed, probably around 100 mph", he said that a collision could not be prevented due to lack of space and the "curvy nature" of the road. He said that he stopped and helped with the aid of the bus passengers.

An on scene examination of the accident site revealed that both vehicles came to the rest on their left side. The bus was at a heading of 294°. The firetruck went into an estimated 5 rollovers immediately after the impact, it came to the rest in a similar fashion to the bus at a heading of 280°.

    (Overview of accident scene)

Further on scene examination of the vehicles revealed that there were no anomalies consistent with a preimpact failure or malfunctions. The vehicles was transported to a secure facility for further examination.

(View of accident bus "in better times")

(View of identical truck to the one involved, photo via the manufacturer)

    - Damage:
The fire truck sustained extensive damage during the accident. The last left wheel separated and the water tank sustained heavy impact damage. The driver's cab was impact damage and crushed (form the rollovers), the exhaust stack and sirens were impact damaged and inoperative. The windshield was separated and the front left tire was destroyed. The engine was not damaged, and the compartment sustained minor damage.

(View of the damage after recovery)

The coach bus came to the rest on its left side following the impact. Damage was noted to multiple passenger windows in the left and right side of the bus. Very extensive crushing damage was observed to the front right section, going all the way to the front door. The passenger compartment was unreachable via the front section of the bus, so the emergency door was used during the emergency operations. The windshield was impact damage and separated. The engine was not damaged during the accident sequence.

Case: Head-on-head due to speeding and overtaking, 29 October 2019.

Description: A imported ETK with driver Abraham McSmith was driving to the garage to change the car to RHD. At the same time, on the other side of the road, Patty Donaldson, or simply Pat, was delivering some eggs to town. Also, a bus with driver John Patrics and 22 other passengers were riding. The ETK overtoke the bus but didn't saw Pat. Abraham and Pat tried to avoid, but it was too late. They crashed into each other, and John T-Boned the ETK.

Injuries: Abraham suprisingly survived both impacts with major, but not life treathening injuries. He simply jumped into the back seat. Pat had almost no injuries, only a few broken bones. John and 12 passengers suffered minor injuries. The remained 10 passengers had no injuries.

    Car(s): 2015 ETK K, 2001 Gavril D-series farm, 1989 Wentward DT40L.

Location: Automation Test Track, New Zealand. (Plates from NZ)

    Nice Story ^^

    Case: T-Bone accident, 25th June 2009, Italy
    Cars Involved: 1994 Roth Alpha 2.2 Diesel, 1999 Daewon DS625 Wagon, 1988 ETK W-Series
    Photos:

Injures: Marta, 25 Years Old (Daewon's driver, Seriously Injured, broken Left Arm and fractured Right Leg, and some scratches), Vittorio, 26 years old (Roth's driver, Slightly Injured, sprained right ankle, sprained right foot, fractured Right Arm, and some head scratches and strong headaches), Maria Antonietta and Antonino, 64 and 73 Years Old (ETK's Driver and Front Passenger, Both Unharmed)
Description: Marta, a wedding planner, was late for a photo shooting, and was talking to cellphone with her boss, Emanuele. But at the intersection, she didn't pay attention to her left, and didn't see the Roth of Vittorio, coming at high speed. Immediately, MAria Antonietta and Antonino, stopped the car and ran for helping both drivers, and called ambulance and carabinieri.
Aftermath: Roth is totalled, Daewon is seriously damaged. Both drivers were transported to the nearest hospital. Then, they were released from hospital. Then, Marta and Vittorio, knew and invited to their marriage thier 2 heroes, Maria Antonietta and Antonino, and had a fantastic friendship.

    2021...
Marta is 37 years old and her husband, Vittorio, is 38 years old, and they're celebrating their 10 years of wedding. From the accident, he fell in love of her, and she returned his feelings.
Sadly, Maria Antonietta and Antonino died the same day of their birthdays, the 21st of September, in 2020, and the day of their 50th year of wedding on the same road, for a head-on crash with a drunk teenager of 19 years old, Alberto, who died too for his critical conditions. 3 days later, the young couple were sadly invited to the funeral of their old best friends.

@renaultclio what do u think about this story?

A’muri cumincia cu cantu e finisci cu chianti, or rather, L’amore comincia col canto e finisce col pianto (Love begins with singing and ends with tears). This was their last phrase of love. Their were Calabrians
