Set on a tiny tropical island with pristine beaches, this rally cross track is designed to challenge with bumps and curbs, tricky cambers and a general disregard for safety. It's mixed surface with several possible configurations. Running anti-clockwise, a short tarmac circuit climbs steady up hill before meandering along a cliff top. A tricky descent will take you back to the start/finish, but not before the 'esses' and a dangerous high speed kink that will punish an incorrect line. The dirt surface forks off from the tarmac circuit after T1 and follows the coast. Some high speed corners and a long straight (with jump) are in store before the track crosses to the in field of the tarmac circuit. Here you'll find some tricky bumps and a short but very steep decent and sharp left turn to avoid a cliff face. You'll re-join the tarmac just before the last turn on to the start/finish straight. I hope you enjoy! Constructive feedback is more than welcome, be it gushing praise or scathing criticism. Just keep in mind, that this is my try at this sort of thing - so stop giggling at the back there. Looking forward to the Race update, so that checkpoints and lap timing can be included. Screenshots: Credits: DrowsySam for Create_A_Map which was used to get started The BeamNG team for all of the content (and the awesome game) Issues: The map should be FPS friendly, but I seem to get a short jump in frames at T1. Not sure why? I'm quite sure I have redundant files in the art directory. Is there an easy way to identify these so that I can keep the size down?
There is a nifty little tool here that will remove all unused art assets from your level automatically ! http://www.beamng.com/threads/3768 Nice level BTW !
Thanks for that. I ran it last night, and worked a treat (only issue was that it removed one texture that was in use). I'll upload a new version soon.
+3 The map looks awesome but when I open it up in-game, the terrain is gone and the car drives on a flat "surface" just a bit above a massive amount of water.
Sorry guys. Not sure what's happened here. I'll check it out. I've got an ATI card, so we can rule that out.
Hi, i know whats happened with terrain....when you created the terrain and edited... you used the terrain file and some other files from art/terrains folder, here the proof Check the Create_A_Map.mis new TerrainBlock() { terrainFile = "art/terrains/Rally_Cross_Island/Create_A_Map5.ter"; castShadows = "1"; squareSize = "1"; baseTexSize = "1024"; lightMapSize = "256"; screenError = "16"; position = "-315.077 -348.282 -511.949"; rotation = "1 0 0 0"; canSave = "1"; canSaveDynamicFields = "1"; Please upload youre files from art folder or fix the problems....thanks
