Please vote in the poll, and submit your own suggestions! It doesn't seem like any of the ideas I thought would be out-of-the-ordinary and more fun aren't getting any steam, so we'll just go back to racing until otherwise stated.
Changed that for you. Anyways, I've been thinking about something for a while now, and I think I've got something excellent in mind. So, pretty much, what we do is have a benchmark production car (i.e. the Sunburst Sport S or Sport RS; or the 2400tix Evo) and we try to build a car that is faster than it for half the price. I don't know what to call it, but it seems like a good idea to me.
I'm sad I didn't have enough time to do the 'Hustle and Bustle' event :/ But I feel for #7 more freedom is better. So allowing any drivetrain, any class of car etc. Also I have a suggestion, perhaps we could use a mod such as Djploppers Mega Pack in order to get more parts?
If there's too much freedom then it'll become all about who can build the most powerful car, rather than who is the fastest driver. That's why I'm restricting drivetrain, and by request now restricting vehicle type. It's not too much restriction, but enough to keep it from being all about power. About mods, it'd be really hard to regulate and give a much greater deal of freedom, which goes against the above topic. Mods will be allowed in a side-championship, but not an official one.
New poll! How does this sound: Hirochi Raceway, FWD, fully custom car with a budget of 20000cr. Details to vote on in the OP, unless you want a different raceway (reply with a link to the track, why you want to race on it, and a suggestion for a race there). Thanks everyone
Nice, but you say 'fully custom car with a budget of 20000cr'. I'm very confused, how do we decide how much the parts of the car are worth (for example covet carbon hood; how do we know how much that is worth?)
Unless you really want to check jBeam values I'd say just assume it, but be reasonable, a race clutch doesn't cost 5cr. Look at the other configs, if you start at 3000cr and have many parts from a 5000cr config then it'd be around 4300, right? This is just an idea, feel free to suggest other better ideas.
Hmm ok, but wouldn't that end up with people having different values for the same part? (eg: I could say covet carbon hood costs 350cr, while you might say it costs 275cr) What I was thinking was index every single part of the eligible vehicles and give them all prices and create a document about them, so people can refer to it and check their prices. The only downside I can see with this method is it will take a VERY long time to set up, but maybe a few of us could collaborate together and get it done?
I feel that if we just have no budget and customize one car however we want and race would be the simplest and most fun because there would be more time racing and less customizing.
IMO customizing is just as fun, in fact I spend more time testing setups than I do racing. Whichever of the two posts gets more agrees gets their way for the next race I guess.
With the release of a brand new race track, I think we should host the race on that track instead. Also, a stolen idea from the BRC group, we will have an Automation car race series too.
Technically not stolen as i was gonna post the same thing in this group to and i was gonna post some Baseline restrictions in a detailed video format for both the rally group and this group as well .
I dunno, having a hard time finding motivation to start it. If you look back at the other championships, there's only 2-3 people if that that participate fully. That little amount isn't worth my time to plan, but if we can get 10+ (we have at least 100 members here so it really shouldn't be hard) then I'll start putting in side competitions too.
So, here's an idea that I came up with. Win on Sunday/Sell on Monday Championship: Basic Description: A championship where everyone who has Automation (likely a decent number of people with BeamNG) can build their own production cars of any year and any body style, then go racing with them. Rules: *Engineering Time of no more than 60 months (5 years) *Production Units of no more than 120 *Price maximum of $16,000 with mandatory 10% margin *No boxer engines (these can knock off 2-5 octane compared to inline or V engines, and can fit into even the smallest of engine bays). *Maximum fuel octane of 87 AKI/91 RON (regular leaded) *Vehicles must be completely road-legal [model years 1975 and newer must have a catalytic converter and run on regular unleaded (86 AKI/90 RON) or low-quality fuel (76 AKI/80 RON)] *Engine variant year cannot exceed vehicle trim year by more than one (1) year *No semi-slick tires *Vehicles must achieve a market score of at least 125 in at least three different categories in at least three different countries (one category in Archana) Suggested Tracks: *An autocross race at ETK Driving Experience Center *A 2-lap race around the Hirochi Raceway Medium Layout (Version 0.13.0.4 required) *A 1-lap rally around the Automation Test Track Outside Loop course. How does this sound to you guys? I've already built a couple vehicles within the parameters above, and I've been able to get some pretty good vehicles so far.
