Hi Mad_Makaron! Recently I've been learning some Blender skills for further preparations. As to the map, frankly I'm still thinking about what to do next. But I did have some background progress though, for example trying to shrink the file size using the new .link asset system. And I begin to add the snowbanks which I realize should exsit in a snowy map:
I'm removing some lights hoping to improve performance, and adding animations to more lights to give a real feel. 删掉了一些光源,看看能不能改善FPS,然后给更多灯光加了动效,试着整出更真实的感觉 This is the video I recorded casually: 随便录的视频:
Adding snowbanks to all of the roads was such a long process that I soon got bored, so I shifted to other works. Currently trying to improve terrain textures:
btw, a few of the steep roads are too steep for driving, cars just slide down because of the ice. it's the one thing that makes me not play this map
Hi! I agree, I cannot beat some of the roads with the default pickup, unless I use 4WD XD. Most of these steep roads are the remnants from the original map. I have made some adjustments to them for better driving, but I haven't completely changed them. I think these roads are reserved for who want to challenge extreme road conditions or make serial accidents, so I keep them. If you can't climb those slopes at all, besides changing your vehicle, you can try taking another road. I have taken this into account when laying new roads.
Hi! You can try loading this map in DX11 first and then use Vulkan. You can also try lowering your graphics settings. The game may crash when it uses too much VRAM or when it generates certain assets. You can refer to this thread. BTW I don't recommend Vulkan to play this map. There's a graphical issue where snowflakes and raindrops will cause your glass to disappear when you use Vulkan. It has not been fixed yet, and I cannot do anything about it
