Hey, when I repaved everything it ended up more accurate. Unfortunately the AI paths were drawn before-hand, so they still need some minor adjustment. Shouldn't be hard to get perfect, and with the new AI features its definitely a worthwhile task. I'm also planning out the mixed pavement/dirt version
Hi, just wanted to mention that according to Wikipedia, the Pikes Peak summit is at an altitude of about 4300 meters above sea level, (or 14,115 ft) and using the Altimeter app for BeamNG on this map displays only 1532 meters at the summit. Would it be a huge effort to, maybe add a version of this map with that altitude in the world editor (preferably the gravel version, as the asphalt version is a bit unaccurate in terms of the AI road) considering that BeamNG does simulate air pressure and engine power loss. ? Thanks
I just wanted to say that I have the same problem – the game freezes while loading terrain. (Killed it after three hours.) I also have Windows 7, and I also have an AMD GPU, and I have 8 GiB RAM, which should suffice. I successfully ran the map on a Windows 10 PC with an Nvidia GPU. I copied the entire BeamNG installation as well as all my user files and caches over to the Win7 AMD system but the problem persisted. One thing that baffled me was the BeamNG process being stuck at one core 100% utilized, but 100% Kernel time. So I attached a debugger, got myself the symbols, and … BeamNG is stuck in D3D11Resource::Map(), i.e. updating a texture or vertex buffer or whatever. So it likely is a bug with BeamNG or with the AMD driver. Here is the full call stack in case any dev wants to investigate: Spoiler: Call Stack Code: BeamNG.drive.exe 0.19.4.1.10239 gdi32.dll!NtGdiDdDDILock() Unknown d3d11.dll!NDXGI::CDevice::LockCB(void *,struct _D3DDDICB_LOCK *) Unknown atidxx64.dll!000007fef1f15065() Unknown atidxx64.dll!000007fef1f181b8() Unknown atidxx64.dll!000007fef1e9ec70() Unknown atidxx64.dll!000007fef1e96956() Unknown atidxx64.dll!000007fef2498ea5() Unknown atidxx64.dll!000007fef1eae773() Unknown atiuxp64.dll!000007fef5647413() Unknown d3d11.dll!CResource<struct ID3D11Resource>::Map<1,3>(class CContext *,class CResource<struct ID3D11Resource> *,unsigned int, enum D3D11_MAP,unsigned int, struct D3D11_MAPPED_SUBRESOURCE *) Unknown d3d11.dll!CContext::ID3D11DeviceContext1_Map_<1>(struct ID3D11DeviceContext1 *,struct ID3D11Resource *,unsigned int, enum D3D11_MAP,unsigned int, struct D3D11_MAPPED_SUBRESOURCE *) Unknown BeamNG.drive.x64.exe!000000013fccec25() Unknown BeamNG.drive.x64.exe!00000001401a9819() Unknown BeamNG.drive.x64.exe!0000000140195512() Unknown BeamNG.drive.x64.exe!000000013fbe2735() Unknown BeamNG.drive.x64.exe!000000013fbd4811() Unknown BeamNG.drive.x64.exe!000000013fb3528f() Unknown BeamNG.drive.x64.exe!000000013fb3866f() Unknown BeamNG.drive.x64.exe!000000013ffdf351() Unknown BeamNG.drive.x64.exe!000000013f8c2c80() Unknown BeamNG.drive.x64.exe!000000014026188a() Unknown BeamNG.drive.x64.exe!000000013ff232d6() Unknown BeamNG.drive.x64.exe!000000013ff2719c() Unknown BeamNG.drive.x64.exe!000000013fa48f39() Unknown BeamNG.drive.x64.exe!000000013fc0ad42() Unknown BeamNG.drive.x64.exe!0000000140018aad() Unknown BeamNG.drive.x64.exe!000000014001b5d5() Unknown BeamNG.drive.x64.exe!000000014001ba79() Unknown BeamNG.drive.x64.exe!00000001408856c7() Unknown kernel32.dll!BaseThreadInitThunk() Unknown ntdll.dll!RtlUserThreadStart() Unknown It’s a real pity, because from judging on the Windows 10 system, the map is beautiful and I want to thank the author for their fantastic work. The Win7/AMD system is, however, my only chance to drive with a racing wheel
it's been a while since i last tried it but a few months ago the map worked absolutely fine on my system with an amd gpu (5700xt) and 16gb ram
The PC can’t install it because the BIOS is not supported I’m typing from a Win10 PC, but I can’t mount a racing wheel here because the table is incompatible. (A special kind of hardware problem, I suppose )
Logitech G25. My table has a thick support beam where the clamps normally go. I’ll try a few updated AMD drivers next weekend.
Maybe I could, but why should I saw my table because of a software problem? It’s a pity I can’t drive with a wheel but I got other maps on the Win7 PC, and other racing games like Live for Speed as well. I’ll be fine. I just saw that someone had the same problem, followed by a week(!) of analysis and a dozen posts without conclusion. And before someone else has this problem and again wastes a week on it (or days, as I did), I can say: Don’t waste your time, don’t try moving user folders or cache files or that stuff, it’s either a problem with BeamNG’s rendering or with the AMD driver. And if, by chance, a dev sees this, maybe they can have a look at the call stack. (Software should give an error message, not hang infinitely.) I can also provide a dump file of the hung process. Won’t post it to the official bug thread because as I understand, they want to reproduce it without mods.
Sorry the track isn't loading for ya, I developed it on WIN7; an AMD CPU and RX460 GPU, 8GB DDR3 RAM. Ive since upgraded to a WIN10, Intel i5, Nvidia system with 16GB of DDR RAM, so the version of Beam may be the variable now: that hardware and OS may not be sufficient for this extremely oversized map. I've been a couple isolated cases of Pikes mysteriously not loading on mid to high end PC's but I could never find any explanation. I really pushed the game engine to the limit with this one. I just ran a test of the track and it loaded fine in about 20 seconds. Its dependent on CPU and RAM, so the faster/more you have the faster/higher probability it'll work. I used to max out my 8 gigs of RAM loading the map, so i bet it wont work now that the game has evolved. I wouldn't suggest you do anything drastic just to get this one mod working, hehe.
Ah, crap, I didn't read there was a discussion board. Anyway, the AI Pathing I think needs a bit of a tweak. I'm finding that when I get the cars going, they seem to at some point decide they want to turn around. In some cases (although I suspect it's more to do with the cars) they just seem to fly off the track.
There's some kind of material conflict with tree blockers in the asphalt version. Blockers are sideways when zipped, unpacking the mod turns them back to normal. Also found this bit of no texture road in the gravel version.
this map is very good you made a very great work!! I just have a little problem, the starting line dont appear
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1007715578 pretty happy with this. 8:55 in the cherrier vivace hillclimb
Thank you very much for your contribution Ewanc. It is one of three of my favorite tracks. Most enjoyable. However I am sort of forced to run the older version from 2017. The only issue I have with the older version is when running 0.23 there are slight visual errors and the dreaded bumps are on the track. I believe you removed the bumps by request for the lidar edition, cool. It may be systems bottle-necking or lacking. Maybe a choice of AMD hardware is the cause. In any case, would you consider releasing a minimized yet updated version for a good number of us stuck in rut?
Hi, perhaps someone can help me out. I've just installed the 2020 version of this map from the mods section and the vast majority of rocks and boulders are completely missing. Has anyone else here come across this and are there any know fixes by any chance? Thanks!
