this is something I'd wanted for a while, I'd like to know if a person would sustain injuries, or die. Now with the multiplayer mod, I think it could really add to many play styles. I'd really like this to be a UI app, I think it would also help me make videos XD if adding extra parts with break limits is too hard, I'd like to have at least a "max g-force notifier" type app positioned somewhere in the middle. Selectable limit (so we can simulate if they have a seatbelt or airbag etc)
This is a cool feature to add! I like the idea a lot. When I play this game I make up scenarios and depending on the type of crash and g force levels I predict if they are dead or not. A simple way to add this is having a ui app that says dead or not depending on how violent a crash is or how much of the cars structure is damaged. Wont be perfect but cool to have.
I honestly would like a Skate 3 style thing, though that would definetly change the game's feel away from where the devs want it to be
I know it's a skateboard game. I thought you were saying skate 3 had a death app in game or something
+1 for this. Since we won't be getting actual physical passengers and loads, at least in the vanilla game, this could be a good alternative.
I think a feature like this would increase the age rating of the game, therefore restricting the customer base which is something the devs want to avoid at all costs.
"Minimal blood" is a ESRB teen rating (which even Forza Horizon and NFS has) and "mild violence" could be E or E +10. If it's done in a purely educational sense, such as just showing g force meters (I'm specifically thinking of shockwatch's indicators) on a virtual human silhouette then it shouldn't effect the rating. Combine that with the fact that one needs to be a bit more mature to have fun with this driving model and no one pays attention to age ratings anyway... That being said, it would certainly give the game an overall darker feel knowing that there's any sort of "lethality meter", even if it is just a more advanced version of the g-force meter we already have, which I'm sure TDev wants nothing to do with
I can see it now... TOP 10 MOST DISTURBING GAMES ON STEAM #9 - BeamNG.drive: this game has a lethality meter to show you how exactly you'd die in a car crash. Now if you want to buy my merc-
To keep age rating the same instead of dead or not it could be based on colour. They could also do a scale and if passes a certain point you can guess that they might be dead. Little hints like this that only more mature understand not kids. kids will think it is just colour or a scale showing up oh how much the car broke
This would be cool asf and I personally would want it, but this is a car simulation not a human simulation.
it's more of a crash simulator, and crash testing has crash test dummies, so it's not really a stretch, is it?
it's literally more of a car sim than a crash sim though, the realistic crashes are just a side effect of the physics model
