Over here in the UK its the norm to drive a manual. Automatics are much rarer than manual (not to say that they are rare or anything, go down a street and you will still find quite a few of them).

The only vehicles I have operated which have been automatic were 2 50cc mopeds with CVT transmissions and centrifugal clutches (also by UK law limited to about 30mph, don't know make and model for the first but the other was my piaggio zip 50t), 2 different go karts both single speed and centrifugal clutch (unknown displacement but 1 was the indoor circuit and the other outdoor at the now infamous caxton raceway) and a 50cc quadbike with yet another centrifugal clutch but god knows what transmission (likely fixed considering it was a small sized vehicle for early teens). I am yet to drive an automatic car.

In the UK if you pass your test in an automatic then you do not have a full drivers license. You only have a full license if you pass in a manual.

Okay so I was able to take some pictures of my car. Since I have bought I completely redid the brakes since they were all crap. Did all of it on my own. I also got some hubcaps from Walmart. I think they look nice. Only paid $28 for them. I also bought a new air filter and got the oil changed. That is all I have done to it. I literally took these pictures on Saturday, and now my car is completely covered in snow. That's Wisconsin for ya...

Also, my odometer likes to mess with me...

    The actual mileage is 122,800...

That's among the funniest car glitches I have ever seen. The first three 'numbers' spell my name, lol, Lee. Haha.

Haha! Yeah this one was weird. A month ago it read: =2=74E0.0

To get it back to normal, you have to kind of hit the dash... LOL

sounds like a bad solder joint in the gauge cluster imo. You could probably fix it if you felt like taking your entire dash apart. lol

Yeah I really don't feel like doing that for such a minor problem. It only happens every once and a while.

    my kinda topic ... :)

    ..and hello, first post here.

anyways, cars... from smallest to largest:

    '78 autozodiaco tobruk:
    Bild0157.jpg
    50cc 2stroke engine, 4 gears, 4 glorious horses, Vmax 45kmh ..
oddly, despite being italian, it is right hand drive.
need to fix a couple of things to get it back on the road, despite finding parts for this exotic litle thing proves to be tough i hope getting it done till summer hits the city.

    '58 lloyd 600ts:
    lloyd4.jpg
600cc 4stroke twin engine, 24hp, super tiny and incredibly cute, suprisingly quick (well, not by modern standards)

    '89 volvo 740:
    vulvo.jpg
my first car. still my daily driver, 400thousand km on the clock. love that brick, super reliable, never broke down, tons of cargo space, and (to my eyes at least) pretty too.

    '93 Volvo 240:
    photo2_zps8289b9c8.jpg
the newest addition, 1 previous owner, this was his 2nd car, mostly parked in his garage, therefor only 140thousand km on it, showroom condition, rust free (very rare on these ones)

'78 vw lt firetruck (sold a year ago):
    61EDD007-BC51-4C0A-A818-927B9C06263A-29728-0000319C31C4F247.jpg
it was fun while it lasted, but i hardly ever used it anymore as the next one below turned out to consume most of my attention and ressources upon its arrival.

    '88 steyr coach:
    _IGP1617aaaklein.jpg
10 tons of metal, 10liter diesel engine, 750Nm, 1 previous owner, only 70thousand km on it :)

not very good on fuel economy, but its fun.
    owning it with two friends.
in the long run its supposed to become some kind of camper/RV .. but as all 3 of us are not very wealthy things seem to be progressing rather slowly.. :/

so, anyways, hi to the board.

Well since my old brown cherokee died [stupid Renix 4.0L]

    (imported from here)

I went out and got my self something a little more common.

    (imported from here)

    1993 Jeep cherokee 2Door sport :3
This one has the much more common 4.0L High-output.
So far I've changed the wheels and tires
    Replaced the altenator
Fixed some wiring and replaced the heater blower motor
    Added a pushbar and lights
    and gave it some paint.

Right now I have to replace the belt, wheel bearing, rear wheel cylinder, and do some floor work.

And a picture of how my chevy looks now :D

    (imported from here)
And the new 400HP 355 I got for it to replace the VERY worn out 305

That's an awesome little car. my dad has one too -

I must look stupid and ask, how much do you know about the CVH Engine? Nobody here knows anything about it because wait for it... it's not a Mazda based ford. We've had the engine out for repairs (timing belt, waterpump, oil leaks... has basically been refreshed, but it has a few wee issues, and a few things I have no idea where they go) Feel free to PM me if you want to help :D

Currently I have a D15B2 (no vtec) powered Honda Civic EG with about 90 horsepower.

This car is an absolute blast to drive even if it's missing torque. It sounds lovely and it corners lovely. Although this car is in pretty bad shape... With a bad sound from the valvetrain, and a somewhat rust attacked undercarriage I am planning on leaving this one to a scrap yard :( (But I will try to find some place where I can put it away for future activites... Maybe an all out track car?)

Also in the plannings is to get an EK hatchback by next summer which I will rust prep the absolute rust out of first thing I do :) This car will probably have the D14 engine (with a stunning 70hp) so in time I will probably look into B16 / cheap variant K20 transplant.

I'm not the wealthiest of persons (getting yourself a full time job isn't really an easy task where I live...) but luckily I do love Hondas and they happen to be quite cheap so that's a bonus :) Otherwise I want an Altezza and Nissan Silvia (unsure of model, I love them all) some time in the future.

I dont drive anything for the next few days, as my timing belt flew off in peaces, leaving me with a few bent valves what are in need of replacing. It had the worst sound to my ears ever when i heard the engine stopping at the moment the belt gave up. It was like sticking a screwdriver into working cooling fan

Outch.. Sounds pretty lucky that you only got bent valves from that though. Sounds like something that can really mess stuff up to me. What car was it?

    - - - Updated - - -

Hmm yea, D16 is another swap I've been considering on my current car. (although the car is in too bad shape overall. Would not mind keeping it if possible to self learn some welding on though) They're good because there are so many parts for them if needed and they're really cheap. B series motors are really rare in my country. K series are more common though.

Don't you worry about something hitting the windshield? I would put a cage thing across it. Mainly cause that would look cool. Nice car, though. What was it originally?
