Hello there After a few months of work, I'm happy to present you my first working mod : the Obey 9F As some of you have already guessed, this is a conversion from GTA 5. It comes with a few features : Working doors Working lights (no glowmap tho) 15 factory colors Several set of custom wheels (you can expect more to come in the future) There is still some work to do but the mod is on a good enough state for release so you will be able to enjoy this german sports car to your heart's content. If you spot some issues or possibilites of improvements, don't hesitate to post about it, I'm all ears Obviously, reupload of this mod on other sites without permission is forbidden. Changelog : 0.5 (19/11/2025) : mod release 0.6 (19/12/2025) : - added dashboard extras - added 4 sets of custom wheels - adjusted suspension travel (should be lore accurate now) - deformation issue of the rear bumper is now solved (at least on the flexbody side) - new car sound (engine and exhaust samples were replaced) - some jbeam tweaking and cleanup 0.7 (14/01/2026) : - added damaged glass texture and cracked windshield - added 5 more sets of custom wheels - replaced exhaust afterfire sounds (thumbs up to @TwoTwoNine for the work) - replaced door latches sounds - revised engine jbeam (added intake and tweaked torque curve) - revised unibody jbeam (center of gravity is now at the right place and deformation has been improved) - the mod is now available in two versions 0.8 (19/02/2026) : - added license plate options - added 5 more sets of custom wheels - revamped all the vehicle paints - revised engine jbeam (adjusted torque curve, engine inertia, friction, dynamic friction, brake torque, burn efficiency and max torque rating) - slight tweaks of front and rear bumpers jbeams (rear bumper is now a proper separate entity) 0.9 (20/03/2026) : - added gauges (working needles and gauges lights) - added 5 more sets of custom wheels IMPORTANT : the mod is available in two versions - the regular one with lore accurate performance i.e the car performs the same way it does in GTA 5 - the alternate one with more "realistic" performance i.e the car has a performance level closer to its IRL counterpart In the case you have both versions of the mod installed, make sure you leave one of the two versions disabled in order to avoid possible conflicts. Known issues : - Excessive deformation of the rear bumper at top speed - Mirrors need some tweaking - Car seems prone to overheating in the regular version To do list : - Proper damaged glass texture - Make full use of the new paint system - Working gauges - Options of customisation from the original game - Car sound - Further jbeam tweaking (deformation is far from optimal) Credits : - 3D model : Rockstar Games - Textures : most of them are the original ones from Rockstar Games. Carbon fiber and mirror textures are from BeamNG. Glass texture was redone by me. - Jbeam : the SBR4 jbeam was used as a starting point. Lots of changes and tweakings had to be done to fit the car. - Sound : original samples from Rockstar Games. Big thanks to @TwoTwoNine for the sample conversion.
The best I can say now is never say never I would like to go through my "to do list" for this mod first
NEVER SAY NEVER I LOVE YOU MY LOVE WILL SHINE IN YOUR EYES NEVER SAY NEVER I LOVE YOU NEVER SAY NEVER TONIGHT Sorry I just HAD to mention this song that's been lingering in my head
As a GTA fan, I am very happy that someone has brought the vehicles in the game to BeamNG, and I will also make some GTA vehicle mods myself, but I sometimes feel overwhelmed. It is great to see more and more people willing to devote themselves to this direction. I'm glad to see that I'm not alone on this track.
Well~ You know, as soon as I release it, many people will suggest this and that, let me do this and that, and make other cars and so on, which will bring me great pressure ...Just let everyone have a look.
But let's turn the topic of the thread to Obey 9F~I have to say that the jbeam of this car is much better than what I did.
well it has some wierdnesses on the jbeam, the rigidity is really not optimal especially on the bumpers but overall it's promising, mostly for a car in traffic or something of that taste!
I would give it the drivetrain imitation of a real audi r8 like the gearbox (ratios and top speed) and the engines (4.2fsi and 5.0 fsi) but in this body (the 9f) maybe even the roadster model
I can see what you mean if you tried the mod and the car performance did leave you skeptical With that said, what I'm about to tell might be a bit surprising but the current gear ratios, top speed and engine performance are actually lore accurate
86mph is really slow, I would add customizable gear ratios (the ones that you can change in the tuning tab) but it's your decision after all
I kinda hope that you will add Highway Patrol config, Cabrio, Tuned, or even you can go with some based off the real Type 42 R8 like V12 TDI or Le Mans. It s up to you but i m looking forward to this mod ! Also good luck with modding
The mod has been updated Among the novelties, you can find new sets of custom wheels : Complete changelog and new version of the mod on the first post
