The Large Fields I present to you the newest Ukrainian-based map that might come to BeamNG! This may also become a series of "Northern Ukraine" maps if i feel desired to do so. This map is based on an area located in Chernihiv Oblast, between Sedniv and Smychyn on the P13 road. It is highly populated with fields. This map only adds a bit more forestry and hills to not make it just a boring plane. This map is not based on any current years, instead its based around mid-2000s to very early 2010s Ukraine, before any conflicts. This is also the times when roads weren't good at all, which is perfect to shake up your super-puper-car to pieces. License Plate mod used in images This map at the moment of making this thread (June 7th 2026) features: -A map size of 8,192 x 8,192. -Lots of fields, forests, rivers and some ponds. -Off-road trails, normal dirt paths and dirt race tracks in the fields. -Long main asphalt road, stretching from the south side of the map to the north, as well as some side roads going to the west and east. Of course, they're bumpy, like the real deal. -A mix of non-PBR and PBR textures (subject to future changes) What is planned for the map? -More dirt paths, off-road trails and (maybe) another dirt race track. -Some villages on some points of the map, as well as some smaller structures as well, like lone bus stop structures on the main road. This also includes smaller things, like signs. -Missions, featuring time attacks, AI races, pursuit and evade missions and more. Most likely it would be an addon for the map to save on file size. -Optimization and general improvement on forests to make them more close to how it should look like in real locations while managing not to hog the performance too much. When will it be released, where and for how much? The map will be released whenever i finish optimizing the map and add at least one village with most details in place. As for where i'll post it, most likely it's either on the repository or here in forum thread. I don't have any dates nor do i plan it out, i work on this whenever i feel like i have time for it. This map is free, i have no plans on monetizing my BeamNG mods as of right now. I began progress on this map just last month on May 7th and since then it had been worked on occasionally, not too often. This entire mod is more so a passion project to give respects to those times when roads were... utter garbage, but at the same time was just simple, trouble-less times, when nobody had to be worried about air-raids or just the effects of the war. As mentioned above, this might actually grow into a series of "Northern Ukraine" maps, however i have no idea if i would like to dedicate my free time working on those, but we'll see. Regardless, it's been a fairly long time since anyone has made a Ukrainian-based map, last one was made in 2021 and had a pretty bad quality compare to current maps. My other ideas for future "Northern Ukraine" maps include a highway map and an abandoned Soviet-era village. Once the assets for this one would be done, i'll attempt to make those as well. Of course, since this is a Ukrainian map, i would like to ask to avoid sending any commentary posts related to war, politics or overall suggestions of FPV / Shahed attacks or their related stuff. This year was very hard for me due to heavy attacks so please, avoid traumatizing me (or others) more or joking about it. I don't treat this anywhere near lightly. Thank you for understanding. well, technically it's Russia that's the biggest in Europe, but Ukraine is the second biggest. --- Post updated --- oh trust me, i would not make it out alive if that were to happen.
well, technically russia is an asian country because around 80 percent of it's territory is in asia, it's kinda weir that it's considered a european country (probably just because moscow is in the european part)
Looking at these screenshots instantly brings back memories of when I was a kid and my grandpa used to drive me to Kyrylivka along roads just like these. I can't wait for the release, good luck!
I have forgotten to tell one piece of news well over 2.5 weeks ago but eh, it's probably obvious to some already. The map is currently put on hold as I am currently not at home for some time. I am pretty busy outside the internet so please, be patient. I never promised constant progress on this map (and the forums thread on the BeamNG Discord server has a [Slow Progress] tag) so don't ask if there is any progress at the moment.
