adding to that, with the current system, if the author replies to a user's review, that user's review then can't be edited.

so you end up with a lot of 1-star reviews saying "it doesn't work", followed by the author giving a quick description of how to fix it, but then if the user does get the mod working and they like it, the 1-star review is stuck there.
simply being able to amend the review would fix this (perhaps leaving a copy of the original review alongside the updated one?)

Hi hello yes please I had a great idea. I would LOVE to be able to filter mods based on version. The idea is simple, cache the game version's release date, and then have the filter compare that with the last updated date, and display only mods that were updated after the version release. Unless of course you're just going to include tags, one of which could be current supported game version by the mod.

Edit: oh and PLEASE would it be possible to have links open up in the Steam overlay browser instead of the external one?

Using tags for this could be interesting, but I don't think effectively requiring modders update their whole catalog every update would be productive.

There are specific updates that do break things (like the devs cleaning up single color textures in the last update which caused a bunch of no texture issues for some mods), but usually most mods are still working fine after an update. What might be more useful for those cases is having the ability to flag mods as being outdated and/or broken due to update reasons.

It would be helpful to have a “bug report” section. Users can post any bugs they find, and the developer can reply to a bug report. This would help with the eternal issue of people using the reviews section as a bug report section.

    Here's a little mockup:

people do that in the discussion forum post, there's many dedicated to bug reports
especially since there's so much back and forth, so having a small, simple thread might not be practical

Discussion threads are a pain to get linked to a thread though, I've only seen them on like four mods.

Great mock-up. 1 star reviews as bug reports is a problem for authors, so I like the idea of putting them in a specific bug report section. I don't know how the alternative of linking to specific posts in the forum discussion thread would work without a lot of manual post identification.

I think ive read everything in here already that i had in mind
    - More specialized tags
    - More global tags
    - Mod dependency support by the game and the repo (thats a big one eh)

So heres my input. Given that a mod dependency system requires any sort of a load order, cause how am i supposed to require code from eg a lib mod or patch anothers mod internal behavior if that isnt present yet or is already but shouldnt, or how to solve file conflicts by load order.. or or or. How about right next to the repository it shows ingame a new shiny Tab [Load Order] and it also has a drop down [Load Order Presets!]

With everything else already said, thats it honestly, i like the new look. Needs higher res mod icons, obvious take i know
