This is the first Lite Version of this mod. 1. Vehicles will try to move from your lane when you flash your lights (T key set as default) 2. Vehicles will be more aware when you honk at them (H key as default) 3. Hey! I've played with this some bit and have some feedback: Horn Mechanic: Cars make way for you just fine, but sometimes they do swerve into eachother, or into your lane (aka directly in front of you) if close enough and in a neighboring lane. Siren Responses: Cars should probably still stop when your sirens are on. I've been parked next to a stopped suspect many times, and in many of those times, the AI has just driven straight into me or the wrecked suspect many times, even when my lights AND sirens are on, not just lights. They should also probably yield a lot more often. Yielding for emergency vehicles should be the main thing, not a side event. The side event should be someone NOT yielding.
Thank you for your feedback I actually didn't try to fix this "swerve" because I liked them being freaked out But I will try to improve this as I can. In the full version that I am working on, I want to add a UI window so that you have a choices of which options to use. There are MANY things I'm planning, even tho I'm not sure it's all possible (whether it's the game AI limitation or my skills )
Hmm... yeah, fair enough to all of that, honestly! Its just pretty upsetting when the AI just... forgets how to use their brakes when I have my lights and sirens on. They just press on the gas and ram straight into whatever car is infront of them.
this mod is so great. will it work with agents simplifeid traffic? I mean it should because its basically just the cars that are changed and settings for that but the ai is unchanged right?
I've potentially found another debatably serious issue with the mod- it doesn't work on modded maps. Though to be fair, I did only test the mod out in West Coast USA, and In American Roads, so I've only tested two places, but, the mod worked just fine in WCUSA, but simply completely ceased to function in American Roads. Edit: The issue of vehicles behaving weirdly when lights and sirens on is even worse than I thought. Cars that are stopped before you turn on your L&S will fly forwards, even if they were at a stop sign and red light. You can literally make an intersection of stopped cars all crash into each other by flicking your siren on for a second. Edit: Yeah, further testing shows this just doesn't work on modded maps.
You're right, it doesn't work in all maps, because it needs a Lua trigger code for each one.
