Thats' what I thought he meant too but I was messing around and blew 1st gear, StinchinStein just needs to add sound and a blow able clutch
My vehicle in real life, 1996 Chevy Cavalier, which was made in the U.S. you have to press the clutch.
All of this works exactly as you described it already. If you try to start in gear without pressing the clutch, depending on the starter torque and car, the car will actually move.
Great! I knew you could move the cars by using the starter while in gear but didn't think every starter had its own torque, are there plans for it to have a 3D model? And is it/will it be possible to damage/overheat it? (I'm imagining possibilities like an Ayrton Senna-like scenario where you have to finish a race without 3rd, 4th and 5th gear and with a broken starter so you can't afford to stall) When I read the changelog I didn't expect more than a button that would crank up the revs with the engine off, but I'm seeing that this has much more depth than I imagined. That's some seriously awesome work.
Second preview video out now! Features: Engine Start Sounds Ignition System Horn Gear Grinding Early Implementation Sounds! TODO: Blinker Sounds (Might not be in the first 9.0 release) Other things I don't remember I will release a beta version soon!
Probably not, I was having issues with the re-implementing the instrument mechanism... Hopefully it'll work out
Soo is it for download now? Cause i couldn't start an engine, you know when speedometer looks weird without engine in beamng
You do need to be part of the group, however.. I haven't worked on this recently, which is why the official version hasn't been released yet..
Beta for BeamNG.drive 0.8.0.0 Released! Features: Start Sounds Horn Sounds Gear Grind Sounds REPORT ANY BUGS DOWNLOAD IN OP
Excellent, didn't fint any bugs so here's my list of suggestions and feedback so far: -The gear damage indicator is one of the features isn't it? Because unless I somehow missed id I didn't notice it on the official update, anyways, it is a very welcome feature but it would look nicer if the numbers were round up to the integer maybe (so we get "23%" instead of "22.84828823823%" for example) -Also, very pleased to see the ignition function making a comeback, but would be nice if it were the only way to turn the engine off (at the moment, with the engine on, you can use the now official engine start/stop button to stop it, or switch the modded ignition off). Also, the revs go down to 0 instantly when using the ignition key compared with the official way of shutting down the engine (where it just goes slowly to 0) -And finally, it would be also nice to go back to the system where you have to return the gear to neutral to properly re-engage gear. Maybe with continuous damage while you are on a bad shift (don't know if that would be possible with the new drivetrain) Anyway, that's just things I'm sure you're aware of, and I'm actually amazed that you managed to port something as complex as this mod to the new code so fast
Yes, the damage indicator is part of the mod. I'll make it round to an integer next update. This was hard to get working to start with... I'll see what I can do with the instant shut-off and only shut off using the ignition, but as always, no promises anything will work Not sure this'll work using my current system. We'll find out, but I'm guessing it's going to be a no-go for the time being. Thanks!
The only sound that works is the horn I got this mod for the sounds and they don't even work. I read that you can edit which sounds are enabled but how? Would be the best mod on the forums if I could figure out how to fix this
