For the 7.8-pre3 update, I would recommend that the horn sound be improved to be louder, better looped, and more realistic. (see video below) Not only that, but I would appreciate it if the lights of the vehicle can be turned on/off while the vehicle is off, so the battery drains while the lights remain on, as well as the the battery gauge needle be linked to how much "juice" is left.
Okay... I will see what I can do about the horn sound in the next update, it just sucks trying to make it loop properly and make it sound as good as possible (hence the reason I haven't got around to it). Do lights turn on/off when a vehicle is off? I never noticed that, guess I'll see what I can do. No promises though
Yes, vehicle lights CAN be turned on/off, even when the vehicle is turned off. This applies to: Headlights [lowbeams & highbeams] Fog lights Marker Lights Day-Time Running Lamps Hazard Lights
Yeah actually my car in particular will play the chime (like the one you got for ignition) if I pull the keys off the car with the lights still on. That damn chime seems to play for different reasons in every single car.
My car however turns the lights off when turning off the ignition, with NO option to turn the lights back on. So it's different for each car. My car is a 2000 Fiat Seicento btw. Both my parents' cars however (2011 Opel Corsa and 2011 Opel Insignia) have "automatic headlights" which do turn off when turning off the ignition, but you can manually turn them on, which was also the case on my rental 2015 Ford Focus last summer. TL,DR version: - Modern cars seem to have the option to turn on the lights without turning on the ignition, but you'll hear a chime. - Older cars can have either that or no lights without ignition.
Are you aware that if you turn off the car, place it on reverse, and turn the battery on the car will automatically start up? this happens on both automatic and manual trannys
More Features Mod 7.8-pre3 Released: Fixed reversing in H/T Series. "Improved" horn (as much as I could, still needs a lot of work though). Tire wear simulation! (based on Dummiesman's tire wear simulation). IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO WEAR THE TIRES OUT. More back-end work. Next update will be the official 7.8 release. Post any bugs you find! When I post about the official release, the changelog will contain all the features I listed in 1.8 pre-releases. Download in this post.
@StinchinStein Good work bud, MFM is getting more interesting and more interesting every update ! Hopefully we end up getting revamp transmission simulation as that's the biggest thing I am waiting for .
Yeah, I just got to figure out how to do it. That's why it's currently in the "Low-Priority", as it will take a while to see if I can actually pull it off.. Hopefully I can
Has anyone noticed that the DCT transmission is stalling like any old manual? I hope this hasn't been posted anywhere else on this thread but is this normal?
Yeah, I guess the DCT is technically a manual since instead of "D" it says the gear, but you can shift it in auto. @StinchinStein I am currently having a bit of a glitch... Basically, (that notification) keeps flickering on and off every few minutes, as in it keeps disappearing and reappearing. Happens with all vehicles while the engine is on, whether I'm stationary or moving.
A DCT is a dual clutch automatic transmission. It has no direct tie into being able to shift. Many single clutch autos let you shift. One clutch is for odd gears, and one is for even. A DCT should never stall because it is an automatic. It is in no way a manual. It just says the gear so when you want to shift you know what gear you are in. That doesn't mean it is a manual.
I am currently aware of the issue. I will see what I can do. Also, about the DCT. I'll see what I can do about that as well. Not sure if I can fix this or not :|
A few updates ago, you had it to where the hazzards would turn on,and hold the on position for a few seconds, after you turned off the vehicle. Is it possible you could bring that back in the official 7.8 update?
Well, they're technically right about that XD But, usually when you lock your vehicle (let's say a 2006 Saturn Vue because that's a vehicle that does this) the hazard lights will do what I said in my previous post. So, turning your car off is also kinda locking it to, right? o-o
