It's not the texture that's the problem, it's some weird bug?/modelling error I get when I created these ;/. Still trying to fix this. that's why its WIP :).

    thanks!

    Working on them today!

this looks awesome! and the country map looks beautifull!.

I just want to say, I am aware of the weird lightning/gradient on the rails, for now, you can disable this by going into the material editor (f5 i think) and enable an option called "Emissive".
I know that it's not the object Normals pointing the wrong way, also it isn't the texture, and it also isn't the material applied to the object...
Also there is something wrong with the Poles LOD, this also will be fixed today! ALL FIXED :)

you should try and make them flexy, but have the bottom of it static. like the guardrails in RoR

Do you have a link to show me an example from ror?

I think he means by using nodes and beams.

    So, just like the vehicles?
(I don't know anything about the way softbody physics work in this game, only static collision.)

Oh OK. It would be awesome but at the current state of the engine it wouldn't work properly. Imagine each rail being a car with physics on ur PC. It would be too hard on a pc right now till they make it where static objects have physics on collisions only or something similar.

That's why a static object, is called a static object.
Yeah but I doubt it will be possible soon, maybe for the next next gen game? :p.

Well rigs of rods I believe had guard rails with physics too so just need some tweaking to the engine of the game to make it more stable.

    this looks great! :)

is there any possibility that this could be soft-body physics?

I discussed this already with jdmclark. It's, unfortunately, not possible.

With the new influx of players now I figured I'd give this a bump because of its awesomeness. I will be using these in my interstate 707 map. Gotta have something for the interstate and for the back roads

Haha thanks for the bump, JDMClark.

I think i'll work on these once I finished my exams. I'm too busy now to develop them further.
I have some ideas, and i MIGHT make them bend once I know how.

If anyone wants to change them in any way or modify them , you may do so :).
I'm not going to develop them anymore untill around May!

    Drive safe!

You may use them in your map. I would appreciate it if you credit me for the rails.
