I was able to figure the debug stuff out myself, actually. When I was looking for an alternative for the ground model code, I stumbled upon a debugDrawer function, which I then used. But your messages on the modding discord gave me the idea.
Noticed an issue with car paint that has a high metallic level with stormy enabled, for some reason stormy weather makes metallic car paint extremely dark. Also seems to happen with foggy, rainy, and foggy rain, so it may have something to do with how fog works with the dynamic weather.
The tire-eating acid rain with the tire thermals redux mod active is no longer as severe, but still present, but since the update i have noticed two new bugs, at least in career mode. First, if I try pulling a vehicle out of the garage in career mode, it results in a black screen until I hit alt + w again, in which case the vehicle will spawn instantly. Second, with the dynamic weather active, at least in career mode (all i really play at this point), all clickable buttons/handles (interior and exterior) disappear, but if I hit alt + w they're functional again. Aside from these (pretty minor, honestly) issues, this mod is absolutely incredible and easily has to be one of the best I have ever seen for this game, seriously hope that you can get these sorted and thank you so much for your work! Edit: The new bugs I've noticed are present with and without the tire thermal mod active.
Hey, Im also having an issue with the UI. Ive tried changing the keybinds but it will not show up. Also tried uninstalling, unpacking, but nothing seems to work :/
That's due to the brightness being reduced to 0. I can't do anything about this, as raising the brightness would cause sunshine/reflections, which wouldn't make any sense, as there is no sun during storm. I'll look into these, thanks for reporting! That is probably because the tyre thermals mod also affects the ground models, but on tyre-level (the weather affects terrain-level). I could disable the dynamic ground models of the weather if the tyre thermals mod is active, but that would be against the point of this. I will look for a different way to solve this, but I'm not sure if it's possible. Sorry, I'm not sure what to do about this. Most people don't seem to have any issues, so it must be a problem on your end. Maybe it's a conflicting mod?
Is it possible to create rainbows when there´s still waterdrops in the air but sunshine and the player is with his back to the sun? Or is it not possible currently with BeamNG assets? Might be difficult as it is not a physical occurancy, but is created in the eye of the onlooker.
Rainbows would be very difficult I think. I don't plan on adding them. --- Post updated --- I can't reproduce this issue on my end. The tyre wear during rain and sunshine is the same as with the weather mod deactivated. Could you provide more information on what you were doing? Same for the other bugs you've mentioned. I tried it with the repo version and it worked. There was a short black screen when retrieving a car, but it went away as usual. The interaction boxes show up on my end, in career and freeroam. I used default career, didn't test RLS yet.
EDIT: Just realized this has been acknowledged, am so sorry, you don't have to read the rest of this, but I wanted to see if it'll help or something later idk I'm just trying to help. This is cool, everything about it is cool, but there is one problem. If you drive around, and in this case, I was in Utah, you can see through the road if you move your camera against it. This doesn't affect how your vehicle respawns, but it does affect how the AI Manager in the world editor works. When you record a car driving, everything is fine, but when you replay the recording, the car spawns under the map and falls, which is odd. Respawning your car normally has no effect, but for some reason in the AI Manager it does have an effect. Keep in mind that I tested this on Utah, so other maps may not have the same effect. But other than that bug, this is overall a great mod. It would be great to fix up that AI Manager bug though, since that's fr all I do when I'm bored, and the weather would make it much better, but that bug kinda ruins it. I hope you can figure that out, and sorry for the big thing of text, I didn't wanna miss a detail.
I Reinstalled the game but same issue. Then I deleted mod and reinstalled. I will try clearing cache or unpacking mod. Thank You
Since a few people are confused with the UI (I did until I pressed buttons a lot) you can only make the UI appear after starting the script (So Ctrl-Alt-W does nothing until after you press Alt-W once). Hope that helps.
I have the strange occurance that AI car drive without lights when it´s both night and stormy or rainy. I think it only appears when you go to the transition from day to night before. Maybe they get two times the LUA code "change lights"?
