According to my friend, he seems to have uploaded development pictures on discord. Time may be a little long for now.
I haven't uploaded any pictures, except to a private testing group and the Community Screenshots thread almost two years ago. But, yeah, I probably should fess up: I built this map with the expectation that the teleporters I built for it would continue to function ad infinitum. But something in the code used for moving vehicles changed roughly a year ago, now moving a vehicle via code (even with the 'setPositionNoReset' function) resets the vehicle's damage, velocity, and even orientation. This is still technically teleporting, but isn't exactly a seamless transition like I was hoping. This is not to say that this map is out-and-out cancelled. I've put a lot of work into this thing, and I'll be damned if I can't release it. But on top of the work needed to finish up just the original map, I'll need to find a way to rebuild parts of the map to facilitate the freeway becoming a closed, euclidean loop. Meanwhile, the allure of new projects calls, for better or for worse.
So this pic is the "remastered version" that is on progress? (if you want me to delet the pic just tell me and also i'm sorry) And the you're planing to make the teleport like from Sherman Square?
Yeah, that's the only image I've shared publicly thus far. That was, what, 2 years ago? I've been trying to keep myself from getting too obsessive over accuracy to the film. But after saving over a hundred stills and set photos, I think I've gotten pretty damn close on all the road signs. I'm surprised anyone remembers Sherman Square Essentially, yes. In fact, the lua trigger code is virtually identical between the two.
To clarify, the teleporters aren't just broken, in that I need to update the code they run. That could be such a quick fix that I might not even bother to bring it up here. What I mean is that, to my knowledge, there is no way to change the position of a vehicle via code without resetting it. The problem seems to be baked into the game itself. I'm not for sure if that answers your question, but while I believe Matrix Freeway can be altered to work without teleporters, Sherman Square is probably a lost cause.
Didn't the devs introduce a new teleportation function that keeps damage when they changed that? I thought I read something like this in some patch notes, maybe someone else knows more
Nice, I can't wait for it, is one of my favorite maps. I also have a question, as you said before there will have other roads besides the 101 Freeway, but there will have gas stations and parking lots like this? (but better, also not my pic) That didn't appear on the movie scene but would be cool. Also there will have a overpass like this? (could connect to these other roads) These are just suggestions.
