MapNG - Johnson Valley (16 x 16 km) Upcoming YouTube video link DESCRIPTION This is a 16 x 16 km map of Johnson Valley generated by MapNG. I have removed bodies of water and extended the render distance to 24K. Warning: loading for the first time may take a while as the texture is very fat. MAPNG If you want, you can generate maps yourself by using MapNG: https://mapng.com/ The reason I am providing this as a download is because I noticed that my high end PC took a long time to generate the map at this size, so I thought I would save other people from blowing up their computer.
Did you improve the map by editing it by hand? Even if not everybody's computer is able to generate a map this big, it is still frowned upon to upload raw MapNG exports to the forums.
The only things I did were increasing the render distance, and fixing the bodies of water being generated. I know random MapNG exports shouldn't be posted here, but I would argue it makes sense in this case. The video in question (releasing in a couple days hopefully) will make people want to try exporting the exact area featured in it, which took almost 10 minutes on my beefy PC. Instead of wasting people's time and resources, I decided to post it here rather than forcing them to join my beautiful Discord server (which is unanimously loved) and having them download it from there. Also, this is the 16 x 16 km the BeamNG devs took almost all of their inspiration from for the Johnson Valley map, so it is more relevant than a MapNG export of someone's home town. Hope this explains my decision
I see, but you should know that improving the map is now easier than it has ever been thanks to Alex Kleinwachter's map tool which copies assets and forest objects from other maps without having to mess around with .json files yourself. Because it's a desert with not much there in real life a few buildings, static vehicles, rocks and bushes (the latter two you can paint across the whole map very easily with the forest tool) would go a long way to improving it and you should give it a try sometime. Getting set up has always been the hardest part of mapmaking compared to actually building the map in the editor, but now that hurdle is gone.
Hi muye I love your channel it's the best beamNG channel although I would like pictures since I don't like downloading things that don't have pics anyways I hope your having a good day
