Low FPS while running the Drag Strip Race Challenge

Since the last update 0.17, i've been trying out many different cars on the West Coast USA map's new Drag Strip Race with AI. Although my CPU can easily handle 5 cars (tested yesterday), when on the Drag Strip Race, the fps go as low as 12... Sometimes, after the race, i restart it with the exact same car and (if i'm lucky) get greeted by my lovely 60fps, but that is only sometimes.
I've seen the patch notes and that the game has seen major improvements in the optimization side of things, which is not the case here. My GPU usage percentage is higher than it was in 0.16 and consequently, my temps have been going over 50ºC which wasn't the case previously.

Well, if it's a bug or some bad code, then i'm happy to report this, if not then there's nothing i can do other than wait for a new update i guess.
