Alright it's working again, but it freezes up after a minute or two. the farthest I've gotten is 7%
This update is an emotional roller coaster for me.

Don't whine about your download speed. It's a game. Keep watching for tips (Drowsy's linked download above, temporarily putting your PC in the DMZ, etc...) We're getting better service than most Ubisoft/EA games anyway.

What'd you do to it? If you just wanna get rid of the levels and cars you don't like just delete them. Otherwise, if you've done a lot and don't know, uninstall/delete and download again. I'd deal with it for a day or two tho, heh...

When I restart the updater it resumes where it left off last time, frozen.

 

GUYS FOREWARD PORTS 4433 AND 8700 FOR MASSIVE SPEED INCREASES

So far mine seems to freeze up for a few minutes at a time but I've just been leaving it and it sorts itself out and keeps going 5-10 minutes later. I've gotten to 72 percent now and I just opened the updater as soon as I could and I haven't messed with it since.

 

Meet me halfway in Louisville in ~5hr? But seriously, if you're not far in I'd just delete everything, redownload the updater, and try again. Make sure your firewall is off, temporarily throw your PC in the dmz if you can, hardwire connection (use another computer if necessary)... open all the ports!

 

Just open port 4433 and 8700

 

I myself did that, and I went from 250-500Kb/s to literally too slow for it to register...wtf?

 

TCP and UDP? Also try restarting the updater.

 

Yup, already did all of that...when it DOES register, it says around 200-300 BYTES per second.

 

Strange. Close them back up then i suppose. But it saved my ass, so it may help somebody else.

Edit: FINALLY DONE!!!!!

 

Well fuck me.
Restarted updater and speeds dropped down to a few hundred bytes per second.
It's stuck on the metadata. Ugh.

This is the only good thing about the update coming out in the middle of the night where I am.
I'm at work now, so by the time I get home and start the updater, you lot will all be in bed.
Hopefully you will have left me with a well seeded torrent with little download activity.
