Looks like a Intel mesa issue here, does it just exit out or crash?

Hey, so ever since 0.37 I haven't been able to boot up the game, at all. I can boot up the game via Proton Experimental but there is a massive memory leak whenever I try loading in that effectively freezes my entire system and forces a system reset.
I tried finding the crash report but can't find it anywhere. Drivers are up to date, safemode doesn't fix it.

Specs: Linux Mint 22.3 Cinnamon; Ryzen 9600X, RTX2060 Super, 32GB RAM.
EDIT: forgot to mention, I also have secure boot off as having it on causes a shitload of issues

This is a proton issue, and thread is for native binaries

This is a native binary issue ie: I can't get it to launch via the native linux launcher only via Proton, sorry for confusion

It terminates with a crash report dialogue before the game can start.

Just setting the Linux runtime (search in library) and enable that allows the Linux binary to run from steam!

Oh sorry, I must have misread, large memory allocation is a known issue with Proton, not Native :(
Is there anything in log in your game userfolder?

Steam should default to Steam Linux Runtime 3.0.

I'm on endeavourOS now, and my previous tricks to get my fanatec clubsport pedals to work, aren't working anymore, not even on the proton version. I'm more skilled at debugging now, so if you have hints, I can give better bug reporting for this. In fact, I'd even be willing to lend the pedals out for a few months, for the devs to be able to get it sorted (I can send the cammus pedals too, which have the same issue)

Your bag of trix should include:
    https://github.com/JacKeTUs/simracing-hwdb
    AND/OR https://github.com/Lawstorant/boxflat
My LC100 works on CachyOS, Ubuntu, and Nobara.

okay, I got some help, and figured out how to get my fanatec clubsport V3 pedals to work on the native version. I haven't tested the vibration yet, but that's beyond the scope of this.
    first I did :
    ls -l /dev/input/by-id/

this then gave a list. 2 entries of which were related to my fanatec pedals:
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Mar 5 23:29 usb-FANATEC_ClubSportPedal-event-if00 -> ../event15
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Mar 5 23:29 usb-FANATEC_ClubSportPedal-hidraw -> ../../hidraw7

I then got protopedal https://gitlab.com/openirseny/protopedal but on arch, I got it through the AUR

then I put in this, in the terminal:
    sudo protopedal --button B /dev/input/by-id/usb-FANATEC_ClubSportPedal-event-if00

and it spat back some stuff, but didn't return to a normal state, so I'm assuming that it was an ongoing process. So I launched the native beamng, and they just were there in the input devices list, and the inputs seemed to work. Thanks to irseny for these instructions.

Additional information, I have a bunch of other things installed now, and am not sure if you'll need them too, to make this work. This is including these things here:
    also:
    https://github.com/JacKeTUs/simracing-hwdb
    hid-universal-pidff
I also did a bunch of hard coding mod stuff, to manually include the fanatec pedals, but deactivating it doesn't seem to stop the pedals from being seen, so I don't think it had an effect. (I was in the middle of learning how to make a UDP converter, and use a protocol to read it in beamng)

Good luck to others trying this, and it should also work with similar things like cammus pedals. Hopefully this information helps the beam linux devs in some way. I think the instructions for protopedal are to add a button input, so the game will see it as a controller.

I have a similar issue where my entire DE crashes when loading a specific map (that map being micro world) and I have GPU crash logs. My GPU is a radeon rx 6600 and I am running opensuse tumbleweed

I'm so glad someone else reported this issue, providing more credence to my claim that this isn't user error and is a bug that still needs fixing.

Just as a reminder I did post my Beam log and systemd logs including a stack trace here.

I always run an up-to-date system. I used to use Arch but now use Cachy.

So, am I understanding correctly that there is no full screen mode currently in the linux version? Both borderless and fullscreen force 720p resolution, which looks really bad on a 3440x1440 monitor. I got the game to run in "fullscreen" and full resolution with the help of kde built in fullscreen option, pictured below:

Is this a known issue, it is not listed in the op? or am I missing something

I don't have that issue at all. I am running opensuse tumbleweed as well as KDE with a 1440p 16:9 monitor. Also works on hyprland. What GPU and distro do you have? I have a radeon 6600.

hmm that is strange, I have the same GPU, but I'm on Arch Linux with KDE Plasma (6.2 though) too and can go into Fullscreen fine, only issue is when the mouse cursor appears and hides in game, I get a black flicker mention earlier in this thread.

What does the OS result say from the Options menu?
