In some cities (or near them), you can easily see in the dark with no light sources because of the light reflecting into the sky. In BeamNG, if you can't see when you set the time to midnight. What I want is that there is some sort of background light so you can see some of the objects around the user (at midnight).

Proper dark nights have been pretty much lost on this planet, it is not only cities, but there really is only few spots on planet where light pollution does not reduce amount of stars you can see in a sky.

For realism sake, I guess on maps like Italy this should be seriously bad, WCUSA also should be pretty bad, ECA not quite so bad, but near town no stars visible or only few, far away from town you should see more stars and dark should be more dark.

When cloudy it should be lot less dark near populated places, on bright sky less effect. Some low altitude fog clouds even show road pattern when it is snow season, streetlights gets reflected from the road and on certain conditions I have seen intersection on clouds because of that effect.

No game to my knowledge has really even attempted to include any such kind of effect and even any kind of adjustment of sky or ambient light to amount of light around you.

Then again it is a game and it would kinda be annoying to suffer from light pollution even in game world.

I used to take pics of galaxies and stuff, but my eyesight is not enough good anymore and also amount of light pollution definitely had made huge impact to what is dark. Anyway Dry places like Utah would be ones that have brightest stars and most stars visible.
