Mock ups of verients of real cars are better, because the creator can do whatever they may want to do, beam's realistic approach to mock ups is fun. First off as a creator I'd say the biggest thing is that you don't have 1 000 000 people complaining that parts aren't accurate to the real thing since a mock doesn't need to depict an exact real car's detail in the shape and such it can instead be creative. Even when/if I do obtain better modeling skills I don't think I'd ever mod real cars into beam, I'd rather create mock ups. I personally don't see it necessary to have exact real cars, sure I love real cars but mock ups are awesome in their own special way. They are original, have their own back story, have their own legacy.
I made a thread similar to this a while back: http://www.beamng.com/threads/are-real-cars-still-possible.15001/ I guess at this point, I don't really care. New cars are coming out nearly every update, and quality mods are being released with increasing frequency. There doesn't seem to be a need to have licensed cars, though I wouldn't complain if there were.
