Update of the demo released, tomorrow (probably) I will write a progress update explaining what I changed since 0.27 dropped
Finally, progress update #12, very late due to me having very little time due to personal reasons + having to work at 3 other mods at the time: BeamNG update 0.27 added the new bloom effect, so I used it on some glowing parts of the car: High beams of headlights... Underglow neons... Gun laser sights... Various lego fire effects present in the mod... And police light bars, flashers, beacon lights, etc. Many of them, especially beacon lights, have received a major rework to look better with the bloom. New off-road suspension added! Lots of thanks to @CrashHard , it wouldn't be possible without his help, he fixed the worst bugs for me and found some more that I missed, tuned all the configs to drive much better, and provided a lot of great feedback! Suspension only available on lifted configs. It has adjustable spring height and stiffness, as well as damping (unrealistic because there are no dampers). 3 types available that vary in width: standard, rally and group B. Due to the new suspension having no space for the fuel tank, I added a race fuel cell too. Modular wing added, unfinished version was included in the previous demo, now fully finished. Wing supports with 3 height and 2 width options, optional adjustable hinges, 3 options for wing width, 6 options for side supports, ability to make 2 and 3 layer wings! Some possible options: Added chopped glass pieces for hotrod config, 30cm lower roof. In order to fit the dummy in the reduced space, there are 2 new lower seats available. They also add the option to adjust the driver camera height. New configs added, and some new parts and skins used by them. Some are inspired by what other people made, others inspired by TV shows and movies, you can instantly tell which ones. Other stuff: Interior sound filter removed, adding pieces of glass and roof gradually adds it back, but not fully Updated transfercases to the new UI but still kept the option to disconnect shafts manually Added adjustable aero tuning variable Car is now affected by water (slightly) Fixed LOTS of bugs, more info in the demo update changelog This progress update and the demo update would have been finished much sooner if not for the release of BeamNG 0.27 which practically forced me to rework the lights lol. Anyway most of the new stuff is things that have been suggested or inspired by people on this thread and the demo one, I really appreciate the user feedback and the ideas you guys gave me! I still have many cool things planned for this mod so stay tuned for future updates!
First picture is based on what various people have created with the demo. Third is loosely based on a Fast and Furious style Supra, but with many modifications of my own that are just supposed to resemble JDM tuning in general
They are reacreations of youtubers custom: First one is from camodo gaming, second is from Crash hard
It was really fun being able to help out a bit on this enormous mod, the new update here looks great with all the new parts, so much to explore. And again thank you for taking the time to build and add the offroad suspension part.
Hi @Agent_Y I have a thing to Say about the f&f supra replica : i realised that the decal color of the supra was green and on your replica, it's yellow . Would you mind replacing the yellow with the green on your config ?
It is only loosely inspired, not a replica, and I couldn't find a shade of green that wouldn't look terrible on the orange background so I used yellow instead.
Progress update 13, I really didn't expect to get this batch of stuff done so fast and I bet you guys didn't expect it too, I just couldn't work on any of my other mods for a while so this took the priority. I think this time instead of pointing out new parts one by one, I will just show the configs that use them and explain what is new. First off, rusty version. Weak brakes, faded lights, starter issues, breaks easily, these things were in the mod already, the new thing here is obviously the rusty skin. There are 6 variants of this skin in total and all are colorable, the difference is which color palette colors which part of it. Another new thing is a 4-speed transmission that is now added to all stock pre-facelift variants, previously all used a 5-speed which wasn't very accurate for this car's age. Next up we have an updated Beater config. It uses another variant of the rusty skin, but with low contrast to make it look like old paint instead of rust. Aside from the paint not much has changed in this. Another rusty confing is the Rat Rod, I had to make this since I already made a Hot Rod. Nothing new aside from the skin. Sticking with the theme of rust, meet The Prick. Taken from the junkyard, fitted with exhaust stacks, welded diff, and newly added parts: ladder bumper (longer version of it available in parts selector), roll cage (updated a few older configs to use it), barred rear 'glass' (you can also add actual glass to this) and a fire extinguisher (which starts spraying when it falls off lol), it's ready to take for a spin at a dirt oval. He has a younger cousin too, The Ri-brick-ulous. Headlight covers, new tubular front bumper, more barred glass, racing nets, and a small turbo with single hood exhaust. Want a more dedicated derby version? I've got you covered, here is The Brickwall, featuring many new derby parts. Longer stacks, barred windshield with additional hood-mounted bars, derby bumpers, dedicated derby roll cage (goes on custom cut roof), derby fuel cell and backlight brake lights. And of course the beautiful custom livery drawn and sticked on by some kid with a pen. This... I'm not sure what it is, but I combined a bunch of old, new and previously unused parts to create a crazy derby config. Less rusty but equally crappy as the others is the Junk Tuner, loosely inspired by that one FSO Polonez, you can probably guess. It utilizes the new ability to use facelift lights on pre-facelift housing (meanwhile The Prick uses the opposite of it). It also has a modified tubular bumper. We are slowly changing the theme now, you are going to see less junk configs and more factory special editions that were previously missing. The Clown is sort of in between... Obviously inspired by the Harlequin. No new parts here, just a literal mix of existing ones. Here we can see a late electric special edition. Equipped with all the rarest and newest parts such as sunroof, traction control, AWD, fog lights and grille filler, and of course an electric motor, it was supposed to make the car relevant again after its 20 year long production run, but obviously failed. I don't think this has any new parts either. There's also a more powerful electric variant called e-Sport. It has a panoramic roof, metallic paint, sporty bumpers and wheels, and more power. But if you want a MUCH more powerful electric config, the Electric Dragster is the car for you! Easy 400 km/h with a chance of wheelies, due to the roll cage and lack of engine making it rear-heavy. Lastly, the FBI config has been updated to make use of the new barred glass, but with actual glass as opposed to the derby configs which have just the bars. I think I have to make some proper offroad configs next, I have most of the parts for them already, but no offroad wheels yet so I didn't even try making the configs. But this is already good progress, a few points off the todo list, which means the mod is closer to release (a bit).
