dude this think looks amazing congrats on the mod I remember back when RoR was popular and they only had a select few of modders to attempt a rotator or wrecker it looks like beamng dose better with the cables i hated ror solid beam to be use as a winch it was a pain in the butte to do roll overs and the node grabbing was not as great as beams is congrats again and good luck
There are not enough words to describe how much I want to play with this with the new T-Series update. Whatever it costs is worth it!
After reading this whole forum, I am very shocked I did NOT come across to this anytime sooner The BeamNG community should come look at this and get this guy to 20k subs lol, he does deserve it for being one dedicated modder and he deserves a lot of respect
great job on the mod is the wrecker going to have a dragline winch in the back? --- Post updated --- I was back in RoR the beta tester for most oh those wreckers its just the winch lines was not as good as beam dose ror had more solid winch lines beam looks an feels like real cable
I was planning to do the third winch at the beginning - there is even a platform for it on the underlift boom. But now I'm thinking is it practical? I would not be able to put it as low as it can be on a real wrecker - at the underlift lower section - because it needs to fit somewhere and be there physically already when spawned. So it could maybe be at the top of the underlift where it begins on real wreckers, but it would be connected to about the same height as the main boom winches. And also, I'm at a point where I have to think about the performance of this mod. Every cable consists of lots of beams and nodes. So I might try this at some point, but not for the initial release.
I was back in RoR the beta tester for most oh those wreckers its just the winch lines was not as good as beam dose ror had more solid winch lines beam looks an feels like acaul cable Oh okay cool I get your message about performance of the mod Still if you don't add more winches It's still a beamng first Maybe as beamng develope in New versions Of the sim the physics and performance gets better and better Winches and cable physics will get better and won't be a performance hit on the game Idk how other games like construction simulator do cable physics and animation Beamng developed might want to learn from those games On how they tackle that problem Good luck as always on your creations I can't wait to hear from your new updates on how this mod is coming along
Just a suggestion if that's fine, can the Vanilla Semi Truck wheels also be usable for this Wrecker? And same with the Jerr-Dan's Heavy Duty Wheels can also be usable for the Vanilla T-Series.. I mean Idk feels like it'd be cool I guess
I suppose it could be done... This would need a separate wheel mod for T-series. And linking the T-Series wheels to Jerr Dan as a separate part. The Jerr Dan wheels are a little bit bigger - they may not fit to the T-series - I see very small gap between the chassis and wheels in some T-series models. And since it is a paid mod for now. I'm not sure if I should use much assets from the Vanilla trucks. --- Post updated --- Released the alfa.
Very nice work & thanks for the alpha release. This mod has been pretty fun but I wonder if I could make some suggestions. 1. More narrow underlift, it's unable to pick up larger vehicles from the rear due to the wider duallies 2. Wheel locker like what the DS Wheellift has. I tried to make it work but can't get anywhere with it Oh, spelling error, "Decrease Height Tear", where Tear should be Rear. Amazing work, I hope to see more down the line.
I'm thinking of another wheel lift design yes, I cannot make this L style wheel lift narrower because the L-arms need to fit somewhere, when not extended - they are almost touching each other. I'll take a look at the DS wheel lift. I'll fix the spelling error with the next update.
True.. but here's another idea if that's okay to voice it out; How about the wrecker ON the T-Series? I'm just wondering after all if that's gonna be any possible
