There are at least some helpful hints: https://www.beamng.com/threads/waypoints-in-bus-routes.55806/ What I see when I look map Polish roads, there is just folder buslines, some pics for thumbnails and one file containing routes. It seems to use bus stop names to figure out where to go next. So placed bus stops need names and those are busstops folder in main missiongroup. I have not placed bus stop, but it appears that name you give when placing stop in editor is used, not sure though. I think your best bet is to check gridmap and Polish roads for more details. On gridmap there is also busroad named invisible decal roads. Bus stops themselves seem to be lua triggers: Kinda unclear to me, but what I now looked it seems kinda simple to figure out, just examine those other maps, @Car_Killer probably knows more of how you set them up as he has made that Polish roads map, which is in a way similar to this your map. --- Post updated --- Ah, there is the naming of bus stop, it is dynamic field here:
my guess is that the author assumed the default road texture was too narrow for that little divider thing on an unrelated note, how is Wellington the "main city" if Newport is the one with the massive highway bypass?
extra suggestion (doesn't need to be done in the next update): extend the limited-access highway in Newport out to Wellington and the airport. i like big wide roads like that. there's space to completely lose control of your overpowered stage 3 turboed 200BX
OK, I made by bus route already, doesn't show up at all, don't know what I'm doing wrong. if you want to have a look, give me a reply
Ok I can try, never done bus routes, but how hard it can be to hack those? I'm bit limited in time, but I squeeze it someplace for today or tomorrow.
Here it is, You're going to have to extract it to levels or your own copy of the map. Don't worry, the bus routes are included as well (I mean, the waypoints). The "longford.busfiles.json" is valid, by the way, so i really don't know what's going on .
I think that task list should contain names of bus stop themselves. However that is probably not reason for it not to show up. Another thing is that avoiding spaces in names of bus stops might be good, that is what I see done on Polish roads. I wonder if there needs to be scenario folder, there is one in Polish roads, but I can't make up much about those files, anyway when I did take scenario folder from Polish roads, renamed files, changed bus route id to 1 it Longford bus routes does show up and it does work. So what is missing is that scenario/bus folder and file from there.
i dont really know anything about this, but my guess is if you try to put a bus route on the newport bridges that dont have ai paths, it wont work. why else would gridmap need an ai path?
OK, i made my busroute, but the waypoints are spotty at best. Some waypoints work, and some don't. Can i use a dedicated decalroad or something for the arrows leading you to the next bus stop?
Yeah, decal road without material assigned I think is what I saw used at grid map, and make sure there are no spaces in name.
SuperEmbracer updated The Isle of Longford with a new update entry: Version 1.1 Read the rest of this update entry... --- Post updated --- That would be a possibility, but remember, i already have tons of decal roads already. Most of these decal roads already have AI. So how is the bus route going to know which one? I also used "directional waypoints". But still, some waypoints work, and some don't.
Link tells how, there is possibility to add navpoints to list in bus route: https://www.beamng.com/threads/isle-of-longford-discussion.58407/page-2#post-943878
arent you the one driving the bus --- Post updated --- when you say you added ai for the bridges, did you find a way to make ai cars call them BRIDGES instead of INTERSECTIONS? i had that problem recently where an ai car turned straight into a wall (twice) trying to turn from the Newport bypass straight onto a bridge

I did try bus route and it is really great! However fps is one of the lowest I have seen, goes to 38fps at some spot, 40-50fps and then at some places can reach 60fps, but as you can see, GPU is not working much:
