And then the devs would need to start from scratch. Because keep in mind BeamNG has evolved into its own game engine built off of T3D. The reason they won't switch is because T3D allows the devs to play around with physics. BeamNG is a simulator with groundbreaking soft-body physics, not your average driving game.
considering that drive is a game about vehicles, I suppose they could diversify more in-depth into ragdoll physics if they wanted to?
Actually tdev recently pointed out that what they have is not much T3D anymore and they refer it to as Game Engine, it was in thread about bringing back cryengine if I don't remember horribly wrong. It is so much modified that there is not much original left, sure similarities are there, but I think every bit was rewritten at some point already. While some aspects are compatible to ways they work in T3D, under the hood it might not be much T3D anymore. It was T3D years ago when they did fork off from it, I think it was mentioned that fork did happen 5 years ago, so no, BeamNG does not use T3D, but it is their own engine by now already.
Given that: -the game was originally made my some people who worked on rig of rods -you can make mods for all those things. No
