this is like the gmc jimmy vs nissan pathfinder vs jeep cherokee

the jimmy has the most torque the jeep has the most horse power

the nissan has the best use of torque

V8 would have way better torque curve + it is meant to be a simple offroader... a turbocharger would be another thing that could break, that's why V8 is the sensible option

I think we also need to see a fuel-injected engine as well. Maybe not a V8, but a small V6 would do. 3.4L would be reasonable.

It's weird that both engines on the Hopper still use carbs. The last car in the US to have a carburetor was the 1994 Isuzu P'up. They should at least make a fuel injection option for both engine options.

Well, it is a 1989 design, according to the wiki, despite having been made until 2001. For a tough, simple, reliable, and cheap offroad vehicle, I'd say adding a fuel injection engine would have been quite low on the list of priorities for the fictional company Ibishu :)

They made it up until 2001. They should've made it fuel injected around the early 1990s. Jeeps already had fuel injection by the late 1980s and they are still pretty tough reliable and simple.

True, pretty much all 80s cars received fuel injection engines sometime in the 90s. Prehaps the difference in performance would be so small that Gabe decided it would be useless to model and code a fuel injected unit :p
