Holy crap, I saw this thread a while back, just stumbled upon it again today and wow the progress that's been made. Tbh, this exact car is the ONE car ive wanted in this game for literally the entire time I've owned it, a small offroad suv. Sure we have the roamer, but lets be real, this jeep is gonna be super fun.

I saw that a couple of days ago you said you were planning on releasing it soon, any ideas on when?

Also is the forum on Berlin time? It shows these other comments were posted at 8:30 ish and it’s 5:30 where I am? Time on the forums is like always ahead.

 

The release is a secret on purpose.
Also, you should be able to change your time zone in your account settings if it's off

wow, from the latest screenshot one would think it's near completion (even though it's probably still far from lol) but all I can say is, keep up the progress. I do have a question/future suggestion though, perhaps a future variant could be modeled off of the BAW qishi, which was a version of the XJ Cherokee built under license in China up until 2013 using nissan engines. pic attatched.

EDIT: should also note before it was licensed to BAW it was sold as the BJ (beijing jeep) 2500 or 4000, referring to having either the 2.5L or 4.0L engine. that was changed with the Qishi as BAW didn't have the rights to the engine. they do also have their own interior design for it.

 

Just found a remastered verison of the old Jeep Grand Cherokee lifted mod, so know once I get this masterpiece ill have the ultimate beamng jeep arsenal.

sorry that I keep posting, but I honestly just cant wait to get this mod. Its the one mod ive always wanted. cant wait to stick a turbo 4.0 in it and just smash the hell out of it.

 

I had a friend who had a modded XJ and he said that it was in poor shape and died shortly after, its parts were donated into a ZJ Grand Cherokee.

 

Who else cant wait to take this thing to the tuff truck map.

 

No, no it wasn't. Beijing-Benz built it with real parts that were re-manufactured from 1985 until 2005, and that was basically the same car, just available with a raised roof line and longer wheelbase. The one after that, from 2009 until 2014 called the Qishi or 2500, was basically a knock-off using existing tooling from the old Beijing Cherokee, but using Mitsubishi and Nissan engines, a cheap plastic interior and tacky lights and grilles.

Even though the initial release is only gonna have the stock configs (correct me if im wrong) is there still going to be custom parts in the initial release?
