Ford Explorer - a 4x4 for those who don't really need a 4x4 and don't really know how to drive one. The Mk4 Golf has one very big competitor - a bullhorn for shouting "I don't give a shit about cars!". A black Ford Galaxie is like classic rock - still quite good and youthful, but with quite a few uneasy undertones. --- Post updated --- Listen, Henry Ford the 69th or whoever runs FoMoCo - if you're gonna make a high-roofed car, make customers notice it's high-roofed, or it will be as desirable as a sex shop in the Bible Belt. The quintessential car for those who don't care what they drive, as long as it can scale rhe entire highlands. The official ride of backseat drivers.
2010 Volvo V60 D5, Runs smooth and sips its fuel 2013 Jaguar XF 3L V6 Supercharged, Purrs like a kitten (I hope thats okay)
Saying these things is only acceptable if you work at the manufacturer's marketing department. Otherwise, the devil will be confused if he has your soul and midlife four-wheeled self-actualisation or not.
so we have 3 cars (currently) we have this 2011 golf GTI (this but with 4 doors) we have a 2004 toyota seanna LE (were donating it trying to find someone to donate it too) and we have a new car a 2018 Chevy Traverse Premier in black with black trim (actual pic)
Here's a car almost identical to what our family has. 2010 Chrysler Town & Country Touring, is has the 4.0L SOHC V6 with 251 hp and 259 lb-ft of torque. It's fast for what it is, don't judge it!! Super comfy, and we've put 40k miles on it in 2 years. It's been perfectly reliable. Sounds good too!
The Mk6 GTI is the sort of car that shows post-mergers VAG - Czech refinement, Spanish reliability, German flair. An early Sienna in "one completely reckless family owner" is basically postmodernism on wheels - American dream turned American wasteland. Modern American high-roofers are OK cars - cheap to buy, spacious, relatively well-equipped, with cheap parts all across the US... and the desirability of last week's unrefrigerated cheese. Probably this is why they'll all be methed out in 15 years. The middle manager's attainable dream: fits a golf bag, looks good washed in front of a 4-bedroom terraced Georgian and has more power than Chris' 335i.
