Sorry I'm an absolute blender noob.

In order to apply specific textures to specific parts of a mesh, you need to have materials set up.

    So, to demonstrate,

    blender 2014-07-19 15-20-11-167.jpg

Here we have a new file...

    blender 2014-07-19 15-20-27-345.jpg

so we open the material tab in the properties panel...

    blender 2014-07-19 15-20-52-490.jpg

and add any new materials that we need. Bear in mind that they don't need to look like what they will in Torque, so you don't entirely need to apply textures now.

    blender 2014-07-19 15-21-11-490.jpg

We then open up edit mode (press TAB), and select the parts of the mesh we wish to give another material, select whichever material you wish to apply...

    blender 2014-07-19 15-21-12-565.jpg

    and press "Assign."

That covers materials, which will be your first step. Next you'll need to create UVs, export to Torque, and set up your materials in-engine.

If you need to, try to look up tutorials on youtube. Specifically tutorials covering Unwrapping, or just beginner tutorials/introductions in general.

    I'm totally confused.

    1. Your blender is different from mine.
    2. I was asking how to add these dds's to the material not to change the colour.
    3. I still have no more knowledge than I did.

    When I say blender noob I mean I don't know a thing.

How about you Google? There is a huge blender wiki, and even more tutorials about basics..

Look for materials and textures. That's all. Also, between Cycles and Blender Internal there are many difference on how to apply a texture, so be careful about which render engine you are using. Anyway, applying a texture in blender won't mean it will appear in game. In fact when you put the model in beamng, you will have to reassign the textures again.

Just used a youtube tutorial to apply them, below if you're nosy

I made materials then did that though

How do I reassign textures because when I edit the material.cs it makes no difference ?

If you edit the material from the material.cs it gets updates only when you reload the game I believe. Why don't you just use the material editor in game , it will show all changes immediately.
