Hello, I may be an idiot for asking this question but I am working on fixing up an old mod and in the engine jbeam there isn't anything related to sound, as the car was made with the old sound system. When I spawn it up in game it has the default v8 sound. I'm trying to make it sound like the covet but I can't seem to find the audio file from the hatch folder. I searched up how to do this and your supposed to add a few lines of code but I don't know where to add it and every time I try the engine stops working. Can someone tell me what i'm doing wrong?
You need to examine Covet engine file, you will find stuff like sound config etc. Then add those to old engine file you want to change.
@fufsgfen fmod sound won't work on a vehicle from before 0.9 because they don't use the new powertrain system and won't work. @Ghani05 you'll need to use sbeam
Just open new Covet engine .jbeam and copy paste sound counfig part to old one. https://wiki.beamng.com/Vehicle_Creation_Megapage --- Post updated --- Vehicle just needs update on that part, it would be much better than sbeam that is now quite old.
that requires overhauling almost the entire mod. it's much simpler to just use sbeam, or download an old covet sound mod and make it work with the mod. @Ghani05 what mod are you trying to add sounds to?
I'm working on updating the Toyota Celica mod as my first project so I can learn some basics So far I added new textures, license plate, updated lights and wheels
No, I wish it did though, I just made it so that the wheels wouldn't pop as soon as you drive on a bump
I think pressure wheels is biggest hurdle in converting mod to new features, but also well worth the trouble. If one wants just easy way to improve sounds with sbeam, here is some help for that: https://www.beamng.com/threads/fufsgfens-engine-sound-tutorial.35578/
