Hopped on the desktop to test this out. It's a pain in the ass spawning this many vehicles..

Graphics on max, physics on, 15 adorable Corgie Pickups @ 3-6FPS

Graphics on max, physics off, 15 adorable Corgie Pickups @ 13-15FPS

Hehe I am pretty proud of my CPU cooling/case setup. 90% load and you would never know by looking at the temp.

Well, with physics off your FPS wouldn't be relevant would it now?

Hopefully when this game gets closer to release and multiplayer becomes an option they will optimize the games engine to make like 8 player online lobbies not to harsh on pcs.

Sadly no screens, the game crashed when I tried. I was attempting to spawn one of every stock vehicle configuration, and I got through all of the cars and the D-Series, traffic cone, tire stack, ramp, concrete barrier and about half of the street signs before the game crashed. It was running at about 5 spf on Industrial. I can get a pretty playable 20 FPS with 8 Bolides on any of the official maps, up to 25 on Puregrid. i7-2600K, 16 GB 800MHz RAM, GTX 760. I consider 8 the standard, because it seems to be a common number of vehicles across quite a few racing games.

Wow, yeah. By the way, in most racing games the vehicles aren't nearly as intensive as BeamNG for a few reasons. One, in pretty much all racing games, the vehicles don't have soft body physics like RoR or Drive. Also, the vehicles usually aren't as well made as Drive cars are. (No underbody/suspension and sometimes no interior.)

Not sure as to how multiplayer in RoR worked as I only played MP a few times.

I spawned 36 Pickups and got around 4-6 fps. Not that bad actually, I thought it would be worse. (also one of the pickups just crashed for no reason)

What happens if you pause physics? the CPU is a little old (i say a little, a few years old) and DDR2 RAM was obsolete years ago, but you should be faring better than that still.

CPU isnt powerful enough to cope with 4 cars physics then. Or you have too many programs open :p

The gpu is great, but the rest is old. My i7 870 and 8gb DDR3 ram struggle with 4 cars. Try a i7 4770k if you can afford it.

It's ok, but BNGD is better optimized for Intel. Even a i5 3570k beats the 8350.
