    Hi! I need help! I have a heightmap I would like to use in my heightmap in a beamng map, but the most recent thread is from 2017, and it was using the legacy map editor. Have any of you guys figured it out or was it removed? All comments are appreciated! Thanks!

    Bumping this thread because I'm trying to do it too. An old thread from 2017 gives an instruction that's no longer valid.

    Just crashed the editor trying to find some reference to a height map in any of the menus & tools.

    Terrain Tools > Import Terrain (on the left)

    Should open this next window:

    Any tutorials describing how it works should make sense from here.

    EDIT/

    A couple notes, this new editor seems to be a bit finicky if you press a button expecting a new window or popup, and nothing happens. It's likely because the .json file (or whatever) it is looking for is either not present or in a format it does not recognize. Doesn't really give helpful errors so it seems to be kind of blind.

    Ensure you delete any previous terrain files before proceeding, also keep in mind that your terrain file will be generated outside of the levels directory, you should find your generated terrain file at /levels/ if you wish to move it into your maps directory you can first move it over, but you'll have to tell the map where to find it.

    Under the file called "yourmapname.terrain.json" you'll find this line:
    "datafile": "levels/yourmapname.ter"

    Make sure you change this to:
    "datafile": "levels/yourmapname/yourmapname.ter",
