I know. I am going to fix them (with some remapping), gonna need to take some time. Btw if you do know anyone who could bake a new SKIN UVmap with the new body, let them know asap. New triggers are coming too.

I know it's 0.37 updating the SBR4's textures, I am trying to learn how to make a proper skin UV for the Sunstorm so that skin makers can finally lay their hands on this awesome car!

Next steps would include entirely new skin UV (which I am trying to figure out right now while being buried by assignments and other mods I am working on), new triggers (ESC mode, handbrake and maybe ignition), and some visual fixes that @Exchy advised me on.

Long time no post about this mod, I have a few things to say in terms of what I will add in the next update

- Skin UV map
- New additional Triggers (ESC mode selector, Ignition, Parking Brake)
- Alternate Sunsport S rims (silver rims with silver-colored badging, fully black rims)
- Adjusted pricing for higher-end models
- Retuning performance of some V8 configs
- Fixing Navigation UV
- Increasing grip of Sport 2Rs to improve roadholding
- New hybrid logic by @bohhu for hybrid config(s) (might delete the TT V8 hybrid config since it is too overpowered)

 

I've been playing with this for a couple of days and have really enjoyed it, especially the sounds. The V8 sounds great but the V10, especially at high revs, sounds phenomenal.

One thing did bug me a little bit though, and it's the gear ratios. They seem excessively long, with some DCT cars doing over 135mph in third and 220mph in fifth with a seven speed box. Being someone that doesn't like to offer up problems without solutions I gave each version a drive and took some notes and tested some changes here and there, and thought I'd report back to you on my findings.

I would leave the 8 6M, 6.2 DCT, 8 S GT 6M, 10 GT Sport Classic 6M, 8 Supercharged DCT, 10 Sterrato, 12D and 10 Twin Turbo DCT alone. They're all perfect.

I would maybe change the 10 S GT 6M to a 3.68 rear diff gear ratio.

I would change the 8 DCT, 8 Carbon DCT and 8 S GT DCT from a 3.68 to 3.93 ratio.
I would change the 10 GT DCT and Undercover from a 3.44 to a 3.68 ratio.
I would change the 10 S GT DCT from a 3.20 to a 3.93 ratio.
I would change the 10 R GT DCT and Le Mans DCT from a 3.20 to either a 3.68 or a 3.93 ratio.

They will all still do around 200-220mph in sixth and around 2500rpm in seventh at 70mph.

If you really wanted to you could lengthen first to fourth ratio a touch and leave fifth to seventh alone to really make the most of the engines. If you'd like I could spend a bit of time testing to come up with a new set of ratios to use in the stock gearbox?

While I was doing this I also noticed that the 12D torque converter slips quite a bit under load.

This isn't supposed to be a criticism, just a maybe suggestion from somebody who is sad enough to obsess over gear ratios in video games. Your ratios might be intentional, in which case ignore everything I've said and keep up the good work, I really appreciate it!

 

bohhu´s hybrid logic is lovely I love it

 

Some new stuff:

- (V10 road configs-only) Widened front wheels (19x9 to 19x10.5) and tires (245 to 285) plus slightly widened rear tires (325 to 335)
- Remastered rear subframe to make it stronger and more realistic for maintenance

- Narrowed engine bay lid too for easier subframe removal

 

Current width is now about 1854 mm wide, which increased by 55 mm in width (notice the widened bumpers to accommodate wider tires). Look at how wide the front tires too, at 285s now compared to 245s before. Rear tires are now 335s instead of 325s.

 

Working on modifying an ETK ttSport seat to be integrated into the Sunstorm as I am moving into making the skin UV

New indicator design, looks much better and better contrast compared to headlight color. Also the seats are having new designs to increase the legroom by at least 10 cm (ETK ttSport-derived, but still thick enough to be a ventilated seat), which is more fitting for the supercar nature of the Sunstorm.

Currently working on making shrunk bumpers for the ETK 800.

 

All configs are currently missing headlight textures, but otherwise a very good mod.

 

Ofc I am aware man, I am just trying to put more content and fixes the issues that I previously might have not foreseen before in a single update instead of clogging the repo with multiple litefixes.

i'd really give attention to interior, sbr's default is pretty low res

 

I'm excited for the next update. The current car is already good, but I think the things you have changed are going to make it awesome.

 

Finally, got the triggers (for ignition, ESC mode and parking brake) in place.
