Whoa , this looks really cool . However , it's unusual for a compact sedan convertible . And there are a few bugs . 1 . the mirrors and roof goes jiggly-jiggly when going over bumps . 2.The Hirochi has rear door handles on top of the "cut out" , so are we supposed to open it GTA -style ? 3. The car may look sporty , but people could steal it easily . Because they love convertible Hirochis ! 4 . The roof deforms weirdly . But TBH , it's a great mod and i love it . Thanks , go14smoke ! Overall : 9.3 out of 10
I think I'll add some beams to stablize the roof, and I also just realized the Sunburst never had rear doorhandles.
Love the mod. And yes the Sunburst does have rear door Handel's One of those hidden ones to make it look more sporty like a 2 door sport coupe. Like the Renault-Clio Look at the real car closely ( hard to find close up of it )
Than you just don't give a **** Btw, I love this mod, if you are planing on making it more realistic, and transform it into a 2 door convertible, let me know, I can take some reference photos for you, as my F Astra convertible was kind of made from a 4 door sedan. (It's a bit older, but still, might help you)
This thing is pretty cool as-is, but where's the cloth top? There's an old Cadillac floating around here somewhere with a PHENOMENALLY implemented cloth roof. As it sits, this is a chopped roadster, not a convertible. The rear door handle problem could be eliminated by deleting the rear doors and lengthening the front doors. Most convertibles (crazy hybrid roofs where the center rolls back notwithstanding) are coupes, it would also help with realism.
......oh. Guess i'm not up to date on the trends in cars. Last time I checked, being in a structurally sound vehicle is most desirable when traveling say, 60 mph on the freeway. That's just me.
The loss of structural integrity is actually realistic. This isnt a true convertible. True convertible's frames are strengthened because in a normal car, the roof provides a lot of structural strength. This mod is the equivalent of someone sawing the roof off of their car. Thats what it is meant to be because the sunburst doesnt come with a factory convertible option. There, real enough for you?
No factory option until now... I've modded the jbeam files to make it behave a little more like a real convertible. Only real problems are that the b-pillars are still not strong enough after much reinforcement. Probably why there are not many 4-door convertibles that don't have any roof support. Changes: -Removal of a bunch of beams to try and improve the deformation -beams around front seats to try reduce really weird deformation -windshield/a-pillar and door sill strengthening -B pillar reinforced -doors/hinges reinforce so it's more like a real car where the doors contribute to the safety cell Oh and if you remove the doors, you can see the thing fold up like paper, which would probably happen with a lot of convertibles and cars out there.
