I made some properly working extreme angle kits for vanilla beamng vehicles and a few mods. My focus was on getting the most angle (at least 60 degrees, up to 80), but keeping the force feedback feeling nice. No weird forces or jumping at full lock, no bugs. Still need to make it user friendly, optimize and make it work properly on all cars and get it ready for the repository which is a lot of work. Ive been dreaming for years to have proper tandems in BeamNG and this + new tire physics could be what Beam is still missing. If you guys want this let me know and I might be a bit more motivated ;D Here is a short Video as a demonstration. Needs some polishing but you see the difference. If someone wants to contribute to make this even better, I could use some help with the 3d models and textures. I can do that myself, but I hate it and dont have enough time for that right now. So for now its using the Vanilla Models which works fine, but can cause some visual clipping on the inside of the wheel.
Looks really good and sound promising. Hopefully Feels good too in terms of FFB. Just an idea there's a mod that add pro drift suspension of the bx on all Vanilla cars. It works and fits pretty good. You could ask the modder to build your mod on top of it so you don't need to 3D modules and tweak across on all Vanilla cars and cuts time! Anything that improves and revives drifting is a welcome mod! https://www.beamng.com/resources/silentwalrus-universal-prod-mod.38364/
Funny, I know SilentWalrus and he is the first person I asked to help me with the 3D models Sadly you cant just copy paste the beamng drift suspension in the cars, if you look closely at SWs mod, it has some issues. I want to make it perfect without compromises, so the 3D models and textures need to be custom made. Doing the suspensions for each individual car is also a must, to get the best feel on wheel. Most of building suspensions is fun for me tho. The weird coding from the devs is quite annoying, but ill get through it
Good luck with your mod. That steering angle from the video fits a pro drift build car, I'm excited for it. Will you drop a beta version of the mod ?
I will publish a beta and do updates, the full release will be when every vanilla car has the physics done. If you wanna test it out early and do some stress testing you can add me on dc. Name is Ezah2000. You can also just join my BeamMP server, but I think the suspension is too hard to set up rn without an instruction. I made everything adjustable by a lot to be able to do quick tests. When its finished its should still be adjustable, but within a safe range and be good enough "out of the box"
While working on the mod I had an Idea for a drift suspension that doesnt exist irl. It somehow works and can get over 90 degrees angle. Fun Fact: The alignment app starts to go down again after you pass 90 degrees. Beta is coming soon.
So far I have done the Wendover, Sunburst, Bolide, Scintilla, Covet, D-Series/Roamer and Miramar. Here is a Video of me having fun.
Well, had to do the Percheron. Its not finished so dont worry about the overcentering in the video. Ill try to polish the vehicles Ive already done and release the beta version of the mod towards the weekend.
