Sounds like you've had quite the journey.

Tell you one thing, this is one game and community I have seen change. It's been something.

Well, it's been 5 years. Happy birthday and thanks for all the fun times! As a tribute, here's my 3000i after I destroyed it in my favorite crash spot.

I also dedicated a few of my community screenshots as remakes of select screenshots from 2013.
    Here's the 3 of them:

Remake of one of the screenshots @Landie_Man posted on page 27

Remake of the "hell a flush" Covet screenshots from @eiji0708

Remake of the first screenshot @Nadeox1 posted in the CS thread

You mean this one: https://www.beamng.com/threads/2007-2011-toyota-camry-updated.52006/? Well, its already released and isn't that good (someday I'm gonna improve it further), but I meant schumacher's AE86.

I’ve started reconsidering jumping into BeamNG. My computer now will definitely not run it, I’m sure of it, but I think a new computer may be in my future. It really is an awesome game though, I would be incredibly happy to play it.

Happy b-day. Been here from the start and still loving it.

Had 2 strokes and many health things in my life in the last 5 years but at least there are things ingame that fall apart better than me ahahah.

Much love from an adoring fan xx

Thanks for the kind words everybody, very appreciated from the whole team!

Thanks for your thoughts. Would you mind listing those bugs? Either they got overlooked (while fixing as many other bugs), or there's a reason why they did not get fixed (yet probably)

That's a mod, does not count (potentially an issue with the mod itself)

    And
    So it was fixed :)

Minor things like the weirdness with the glass underwater, some car specific things like d series normal mapped bed doesn't appear with default game skins(might be bed specific idk never tested it enough), suspension models being removed with the wrong part in the selector, etc.

I am sure there are more but I myself have only owned the game for a year so haven't been as hands on, somethings I have noticed and other things I have seen in videos. I mean afaik T3D is operated by tdev so any engine specific issues also count imho.

Also reckon if it wasn't 3am I might be able to compile a larger list. Nothing on the list would be game breaking but the issues and/or bugs have all been there and could have been fixed given the 5 years of time to work on them.

Not saying the game has to be perfect either :p just saying you have a game that is meant to be a "showcase" of technology for beamng as a company and lately a lot of customers are frustrated with the progress, change in direction, and somewhat hostile behavior regards to reporting bugs (sunburst door) that are literally years old.

Edit: probably used the term "bug" too loosely in my original post but pretty much meant issues or oddities that aren't meant to be in the game.

    Again thanks for your thoughts.

The thing with 'underwater and glass' is a bit complicated.
It's something in the transparencies ordering that is not right at certain angles (same thing that affects headlights).
Graphical imperfections like that are usually categorized low/normal priority, and often overtook by higher-priority issue for our main render guy.
As one that likes to take nice screenshots and videos, there's many render issue I'm also eager to see fixed/solved, but one thing at the time :)

The issue with the skin is new, to me at least, I don't recall seeing any bug reports about that.
If you ever get that, feel free to make a thread including as much details.

The suspension issue is also new. If you got more details, thread please.

And so on for every other bug you might have found.

We are definitively not perfect (who is?), but we are working hard every single day to deliver our best, whether that may be clearly visible or hidden inside several layers of game code.
What's the change in direction you are mentioning? We have always been very cautious into promising things. Generally, our plan has not got any major changes: https://blog.beamng.com/something-is-still-on-the-horizon/

Also please understand we are also human and have irrational emotions at time (especially after simply a bad, for unrelated reasons, or stressful day) that prevails when pressing the 'Post Reply' button
    When we get something like:

after releasing a big update, we might loose our patience for a microsecond (sorry if that wasn't handled properly at first!).
Bug reports are what help us to improve the game (that's why we took time to create feedback threads, reply to people and try to list bugs there when possible). When reporting we always please to provide as much information as possible, as well to not take them lightly!

Cheers and have a nice Sunday :)

Late reply I know but I only booted beamng up today for the first time since. Also dunno where you would want a thread so just gonna reply here.

Suspension issue is the hub, the brake disk and possibly other things are removed with the wheels.

The Normal v skin issue appears to be an issue with low settings, the bed grooves and detail doesn't show up on low detail settings for me, seems silly cause it makes the bed look like the inside of a box.

A thread in the section for bug reports, I meant.

For the 'suspension' issue', we are checking what's happening.
EDIT: It should happen on all/most vehicles. Some parts, like the brake disc for example, has to be bound to the wheel (for the flexbodies). When you remove the wheel, that also disappears.

For the 'skin' issue, you meant 'Lowest' settings perhaps? If so, by your description you are referring to normal maps. That would not be a bug, but a meant thing to happen.
The lower you go with graphical settings, the less graphical features you'll see (as should normally happens in games)
Setting 'Shader Quality' to Lowest would disable normal maps.

'Shader Quality' to Low and above do use normal maps:

Apologies probably should have figured that out. :D
That seems silly to me I mean I have no real choice but to run min settings but with the details for the cars requiring normals seems like you should have normals on regardless.
