I cannot guaruntee pbr materials, but it is being looked into yes. EDIT: I'll create a whole post/update post, when im satisfied with the progress ive made, im a single person working on this, but for now, think of it as playtests.
Ive updated the link, please delete the previous version (if theres texture problems, which there shouldnt be, please go to your temp folder where the mods folder is located and delete any daveeyy folders), ive fixed the scale being too big, lemme know how it feels now. Ive also increased lods except for the freeway and forest items. Fixed all the normals on the buildings, also cleaned up mesh that still had the vegetation lods. Because ive rescaled after ive updated lod distance it may still pop in sooner than what its supposed to though it is better, im busy with it as i post this. Bumps shouldnt be as aggressive as before as those areas should also be smaller. Since shrinking the forest item, there now is some collision problem with some of them, im still looking into it. If no solution is found, the map will be reset to the original scale, which i personally think feels more like how gta makes you feel in terms of scale.
Good performance on new version as well! Starting area average FPS 240, m. bank 200, l. square 260, tunnel 290, highway 300 Does the original game use PBR tho? If not OP would have nowhere to grab those delicious Metallic, Normal, Roughness, ClearCoat, Ambient Occlusion and Opacity maps from.
it has normal, roughness and i believe metallic maps, im not too sure about the rest, and ive updated it again just before bed ill add updates to the main post from here on out
Well, GTA V pretty much looks like it, but I just said "If possible". If not, it's ok. That doesn't mean I will force the creator to put PBR on the map. You know, Car_Killer ported NFS MW 2012's map to BeamNG, and it has PBR materials across the map. I'm sure he knows how to put PBR in maps ported from other games because he did the same for the Yakuza game maps as well. --- Post updated --- I had to put Davey's car in, name of this thread says it lol.
daymn, this map is crazy, shame its not finished (cough cough literally no map besides city centre), kinda surprised it was opened so early whilst in dev
Thank you and im hard at work bringing in the rest. Ive opened it early to get feedback on performance across various computers hinting at what needs to be changed, and to receive insight/tips on what can be done. This is also why i didnt name the post what it should be.
