Welcome to my thread "Golden Games", dedicated to racing games that have (IMO) set the standard that other racing games have tried to surpass but failed. i will try to post here every week with racing games that have left an everlasting memory.
For the first game we have Test Drive Unlimited. a game released in 2006-2007 for the Xbox 360, PSP, PS2, and PC. Developed by Eden games and published by Atari, Test Drive Unlimited raised the bar for what was possible for an open world game at its time. It successfully came close to replicating the freedoms of real life by giving us the ability to buy our own houses, play dress up with our characters, and spec out our cars inside a showroom. This combined with a scaled down version of the Hawaiian island of Oahu to drive on, and an online system that brought other players together made TDU an open world experience that i (and hopefully all of you) will never forget. This was a game that tried to give you a taste of the "good life". A game that truly made you feel rich. Sadly the online servers died in 2012 and so did the original TDU. But thanks to the community at (https://forum.turboduck.net/), Test Drive Unlimited has once again been made popular, and i hope that one day this game gets a proper sequel (unlike TDU 2 which felt "off").
And so that concludes our first game on this list. If you have any suggesting on other racing games you feel should be included, feel free to leave a reply below.

Hello, and welcome to another edition of "Golden Games", where i will be listing racing games that are in my opinion "Golden". For the next game we will be looking at is Street Legal Racing Redline (slrr), a game released in 2003. This game basically started the customization in video games (along with nfs underground), and took it a step further with the ability to almost completely build/modify your own car inside and out (engine, body, suspension, etc). Set in the fictional Valo City, the player must first purchase a car at the used car dealership. He (or she) must then repair his car (if there is anything wrong with the car) with what ever money is left over. After buying and repairing a car, the player can then start racing and work his way up the "ranks" until he beats every racing club and accomplish the requirements to enter the Race of Champions (a prestigious racing competition where one can win a bonus car). once there the player must compete in a series of races (a championship) until he wins while using only one car and a few spare parts that he/she can take with him. After winning the ROC the player is then rewarded his car and the game is pretty much complete. And so that does it for this edition of "Golden Games", as always feel free to comment below.

Here's a better solution. Make a youtube channel about it, so more people can show your content, and this site will have less clutter.
