It loads fine for me but it doesnt load for my friend @maty . EDIT: It loaded for him after 30 - 40 minutes or so.
it's a weird problem I don't have an answer for I assume your friend has a Ryzen CPU? The Moderators response to the problem is here for what its worth. https://www.beamng.com/threads/bad-ryzen-cores-load-in-map-loading-process.71307/
less than 2 minutes on a cleard cache and about 1 minute with uncleared cache comparable to loading times for italy
oh, lol. My default vehicle is the covet, I never tested it with other cars. I think the other spawn points have more space around them, but if it takes you 20 minutes to load I wouldn't reload to change it right now. Free cam and press F7 I guess for now.
yeah, no worries, Next time I play I will probably move it onto the road in front of the parking bays. As for the loading times there must be something wonky with your setup causing the problem, as Alex_Farmer557 isn't having the same problem as you, and is using a Ryzen CPU too. No idea what it is though. If you do find out please let me know, as you are not the only one to have problems it seems. Have you checked the integrity of the game files and other troubleshooting tips for the game? https://documentation.beamng.com/troubleshooting/index.html#support-tools Some mods may modify the core game files and once removed they can leave the changes in place, causing weird stuff to happen. Maybe a clean install? Its all I can suggest, The map isn't reporting any errors to fix. I hope you figure it out and share the fix for others to try. I can't do much else without more information.
Drove a beige Pessima across the map and felt a piece of my humanity die. Worked fine, excellent job.
Hi, i have: Ryzen 2400G 3.8GHz; KFA2 GTX1066 ; 16GB crusial 3200MHz. Map loading took ~30 minutes Most of the time it took to load the forest. Dear author, please make another version without a forest, if this helps someone, then this will help to identify the reason for the long download.
There is a bug report ticket that the dev's said they will look into at some point. Its a weird issue that I can't explain at the moment. See link below https://www.beamng.com/threads/bad-ryzen-cores-load-in-map-loading-process.71307/ I have a feeling its either a mistake I made in the map that I can't find, or a deeper issue with the game that is beyond my control. As I and others can load the map I'm inclined to think its a problem with the game, as if it was purely a problem with the map it wouldn't work for anyone at all. I will post more info when and if I find out more. Sorry about that Edit: If I remove the forest most of the buildings and stuff will be missing making the map almost empty and nothing like a city at all.
Sorry for the slight bump, but I just tested the map loading time on my machine. It stopped on Forest for about 5 minutes, but then is loaded everything. Only took me about 9 minutes to load the entire map, which to me isn't that bad. This was my first time loading the map though, so the next time I load it it will definitely take less time. I'm on an i7-7700 BTW.
Sorry for bump but I hear a trumpet and a person coughing while loading and it is making me uncomfortable. Can you please remove that?
Me too I'm having a not responding window when loading forests elements. I cleared cache. I saw it happens on Ryzen CPUs... Weird! I have a (not state of the art) Intel i7 920 and BeamNG.drive doesn't respond while loading forests. The cpu works on all cores and not single-core while loading the map. At the moment of writing, I'm still waiting for it to run, it's been around 6mins. Hope to help! Edit: Got it to run in 20mins
I love the map, just discovered it not too long ago. Textures on vertical surfaces (like the sides of buildings) are awesome! No complaints there. But the lines on the horizontal roadways as you look straight down the road-- further away-- get blurry very fast. At first I thought it was just on the freeway, but the surface streets in the downtowns are not much better. Take a look. This is basically common everywhere in my copy: I've messed with graphics settings-- maxing them out all the way to the right (temporarily)-- just to see if that would make a difference, but to no avail. Tried clearing cache and running that hashing / verify files thing, and no better. Tried uninstalling the repo copy and downloading your in thread copy, and no better. Tried going into the old text editor and raising site distances in the levelinfo section... (dont really know how to change distance draw of textures and roads, only cars and fog)... and again nothing. So I'm stuck with what you see above. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
I'll add another observation as of tonight. When I DL'ed and installed the .zip from page 1 of this thread, I could not get it to load. When I DL'ed and installed the .zip from the repo, it loaded. Usually an average of 40 seconds after hitting the spawn button in the lower right.
That looks like your anisotropic filter setting. It didn't look like that to me. Though I haven't loaded the game since the last update. I know they have been tweaking the map editor a lot, so it might have broken the map if its not that setting.
Thanks for the follow up. Yes, I tried Anisotropic Filting, at 16x, and to no avail. Textures High, nope. Everything turned to high... nope; still the same prob. It's not just your map... seems to be all the maps in the whole game. I'll start a new post with a greater description in details. --- Post updated --- Just wish to add that slight issues aside, it really is an amazing map. I love getting lost in it. Rather than having one big downtown in the center with all the 'burbs on the perimeter, you have 5 distinct downtowns (maybe more)-- on each corner plus one in the middle, and you could possibly count others as additional in the middle. There is quite a variance in this map. If people just stay in the cities, yes... they can point out the repetition of structures and buildings. But if you drive on the west perimeter, along the beach, I see a lot of similarity to small island or Italy. If you drive along the east perimeter, I see some Derby Arena in it, so there's something for everyone. I have to say, that billboard on the north-east'ish end of the freeway loop is a little macabre & gruesome; but it does get the "Don't Text and Drive" message across pretty well. Thank you again for the time you've put into this map.
