The amount of negative reviews I've had from close friends and family for Lucy are really putting me off watching it.
It's not really worth it in my opinion. The idea was neat, but the execution wasn't anything special. On the other hand, if you haven't already seen Ex Machina I'd strongly suggest seeing that. I really loved it.
I have seen Ex Machina and although the concept was interesting, I did find ultimately the film was rather poor.
q keeping in mind the transmission modes will be limited according to whether a manual or automatic transmission is actually installed in the vehicle.
That whole 'humans only use ten percent of their brains' thing has always been kinda unspecific. Ten percent of what? Its memory? Its processing potential? And do we mean altogether over a lifetime or concurrently at any given moment? There are so many gaps in that statement even before how films tend to monopolize on it: 'Race to Witch Mountain' used it to rationalize the humanoid-alien-children-things possessing telekinesis and the ability to phase through solid surfaces. As if that's possible in physics, much less a purposeful feature in biology. That's a little like saying that if a computer could run/open 100% of its programs/files at the same time, and not just 5%, it could turn concrete into cotton candy.
That whole 'humans only use ten percent of their brains' is crap anyway. Each part has a different job; you can't NOT use your visual cortex, it's always processing information (while you are conscious). Also, if we didn't use 100%, we wouldn't need 90% of our brains so it would atrophy Here's the wiki page on it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_percent_of_the_brain_myth
It's been proven that we do use most if not all of our brain's power. But they need some way to give people superpowers and radiation was getting old so...
Still, relying on a popular misconception seems frail. It'd be like Marvel using the old spinach-protein miscalculation to explain Captain America.
There are so many crappy things that are being done by the government currently. Its impossible for any one person to keep track of it all or make sense of it all. Maybe i have gone full tinfoil hat here, but it kinda seems like that is the point. Do so much crap that everyone accepts it because there is too much to keep track of. The "we cant afford the NHS" yet we seem to be spending millions on new surveillance systems, sure an increased surveillance system may (possibly) save 100 lives a year, but a well functional NHS will save many more. But no, we cant afford that... The NHS is obviously broken because it is unable to treat patients to a high enough standard, maybe if they didn't keep slashing its funding it might not be getting worse and worse every year as it struggles to find the money to treat patients. [/rant] Any way, it half past midnight, im just gonna go cry myself to sleep now while i think about this :/
I just did a speed test and got these results. (imported from here) We are only paying for 15 down and 5 up...
That was happening to me a while back. Was only paying for about 20 down, yet was easily exceeding 60.
