The range on our schools wifi is quite fantastic. Im currently at the road accross a feild from the school and still get good speeds and a 7ms ping.
And my laptop can barely get a signal from just outside the school. Inside the school the wifi is good though.
BeamNG forums work at school. So does steam messaging although the store etc are blocked. Youtube does not work over the wifi, although you can get it on a school computer in years 12 and 13. The wifi is left on non stop and each device connected gets 10megabits per second maximum so its not exactly slow. Considering how low the ping is and that you could use a vpn it is fairly viable.
My school doesn't even have wifi. I bring ethernet cables to plug into the walls to get a 100kb/s download speed.
Excuse me while I go out and buy another hard drive specifically for GTA V. - - - Updated - - - How my current Skype conversation is going: Me- I need to clear out my hard drive. Friend 1- Why? Me- GTA 5. Else I'm buying another one. Friend 1- Oh. Makes sense. Me- So what we gonna do? Friend 1- CS:GO? Me- Sure. Friend 2- Hold on, some faggot keeps texting me. Oh, it's my mom. God damnit.
my schools wifi sucks. it may be because we have people who will hack the wifi to kill it so Google doesn't work and they don't need to do a project. that and students at other schools will pay people to bring down our wifi. March madness and gaming it the real killer though. where is Tom Brady when you need him to donate?
I don't have any complaints about my school wifi. It's actually a lot faster and more reliable than the wifi at my house. :| Every now and then it'll go down for an hour or two for whatever reason but it's not a big deal.
i think the problem with my school is that the 800 or so students all have computers for school (private school requires it). and so many people are playing games it mucks up and dies. instead of fixing that problem, we get football jerseys and students drive their boss's Aston to school. its a hard hard life *note sarcasm*
iPads are mandatory at our school. I ma in the last year group not required to bring one to school every day. Its kinda awkward since all of the teachers are being told that they have to use them in lessons. The school has had issues where people playing online games on the wifi but that hasn't caused any outages. But they are implementing a new automatic port blocking system to try and prevent games from working since they are not allowed to use deep packet inspection style stuff. Either way i have very few complaints about it. Its very reliable and it works. The school also has all data that is stored on the cloud locally backed up in case of internet outage so the school can continue to operate even if it isn't ideal to do so. The IT department does a very good job. In fairness most the school does a good job even if there are some more derpy members of staff.
I know most people like the sound of a bassy engine and a tuned exhaust, but does anyone else enjoy listening to a racing transmission scream and whine? . It's not a pleasant sound... but I do love hearing it. These must be the straightest gears in existance though.
